FC: Anglo-Saxons Food and Drink

1: By Stephanie Dixon 1st period 9-8-09

2: Meats and breads were some of their main foods

3: The Anglo-Saxons loved to eat and drink

4: They barely drunk water because it was contaminated. They mainly drunk mead a lite beer and ale also a lite beer

5: They ate what they grew such as onions, carrots, apples, parsnip, cherries, and plums.

6: Foods such as bananas, pineapple, and potatoes were unknown to the Anglo- Saxons

7: Most Anglo-Saxons were vegetarians. There were deer and wild boars but they could only be killed by the people who owned the land. The main meat that they ate was fishand the caught those out of the rivers and seas

8: Often the citizen would gather at the town hall for large feast and entertainment

9: To cook they would use cauldrons and put them over fires.. Because their main foods were soup they had many different types of bowls to eat out of

11: The different ways that the Anglo-Saxons would cook their food.
