On a warm Saturday morning, Michelle woke up to the usual smell of blueberry waffles “Michelle! When do you think you’re gonna be up?” As Michelle started to adjust to the bright light in her room caused by the sun streaming in from her window her mother stormed in, surprised that her daughter heard her yells from downstairs. “C’mon, Alice will be here any minute! I’m coming, I’m coming.” Said Michelle. Michelle went to the bathroom and brushed her teeth while her mom brushed her hair and picked out her outfit for today. “I wonder what you and Alice will do today I’m not sure either, but can we have animal crackers?” Her mom thought about it for a moment and said, “why not? Go right on ahead and eat anything you want!” Once they were all done with their preparations they went to pick up Alice. “I thought her mom was dropping her off this time Well her mom had to go to work early again and she didn’t have time to drop her off so we’re going to pick her up.”

“Lalalala”, sang Alice as she awaited the arrival of Michelle and Brenda. About five minutes later she heard a car slow and pull into her driveway. Still humming to herself she hopped in the car beside Michelle, “how are you today?” Asked Brenda. “Oh um, I’m fine, well that’s good.” They got to their house and Michelle quickly got out of the car and grabbed the animal crackers. “Look Alice! We can have animal crackers! Oh yay, these are my favorite!”

They went to sit in the living room and watch TV as Alice said she wanted something to drink. Michelle went to the kitchen and asked her mom for some milk. “Of course you can, hold on a minute” As Michelle waited she pet her cat named, Buba. “Alright, there you go! Enjoy your show, I’m going upstairs to watch the news be good!” Michelle went back to the living room and looked in her bowl only to find that her animal crackers were gone. She looked at Alice and said, “Did you take them?” “No, maybe the cat did” “I don’t think so, he was in the kitchen with me when I got our milk.” Alice thought for a moment and said, “I don’t know then.”

Michelle took a close look at Alice and thought for a moment. “Hhhhm, you look somewhat pale. Are you alright?” Alice could not contain it anymore. “ Alright. I took your crackers!” Shocked, Michelle yelled. “I thought you were my friend!” Michelle’s mother came storming downstairs. “What is going on down here? Didn’t I tell you two to behave?!” Suddenly the two girls started to argue who started who started it. “Alice stole my crackers! Well Michelle left them sitting there and I had already eaten mine and I was hungry! Hey, HEY! Chill out, okay Michelle, your story please?” As Michelle explained Alice sat there with an angry look on her face. “Okay now you Alice.”

Once they explained Brenda told them to sit at the table and try to talk it out. I’m sorry” Said Alice. “It was wrong of me to take those crackers from you Oh don’t sweat it, it’s alright, I forgive you.” They jumped and hugged each other gratefully and just as Michelle’s mother walked in too! “So I see you two are good friends again?” They looked and each other and laughed. “Yeah, I guess we are!!!” Now that they were good friends again they went and sat in the living room and watched a movie. “So, who would like some animal crackers?” As they laughed Michelle went and got a bag for all of them to share. “Thank you Michelle!” You are very welcome!” replied Michelle. And while they watched the movie, everyone fell asleep in a deep slumber
