2: 6 facts about the Baroque Period: | ~The term Baroque was derived from a Portugese word meaning "pearl of Irregular shape". ~ The 30 years war was fought. ~Caravaggio and Annibale Carracci are the two great figures who stand at the head of the Baroque tradition.

3: ~From about the late 1660s on, and increasingly so, Upper-class men and women wore periwigs and coats with lace. ~Who was the first woman to make a significant contribution to the Baroque period? ~The older meaning of the word, as a synonym for `capricious', `overwrought' or `florid', still has some currency, but not in serious criticism.

4: Life and Style of Nobility and Upper Class | New foods were being introduced.... For example, at the Court of Versailles, Louis XIV's dining possibilities ranged greatly. The "Cavalier" style of dress became popular during the early part of the Baroque period. The upperclass loved to show off their wealth

16: ~In the 17th century traditional pastimes such as cards and bowls continued. ~Cruel sports were popular among the poor. ~Masque was also a popular form of entertainment at this time ~By the late 17th century even poor people usually lived in houses made of brick or stone.
