2: 6 facts about the Baroque Period: | ~The term Baroque was derived from a Portugese word meaning "pearl of Irregular shape". ~ The 30 years war was fought. ~Caravaggio and Annibale Carracci are the two great figures who stand at the head of the Baroque tradition.
3: ~From about the late 1660s on, and increasingly so, Upper-class men and women wore periwigs and coats with lace. ~Who was the first woman to make a significant contribution to the Baroque period? ~The older meaning of the word, as a synonym for `capricious', `overwrought' or `florid', still has some currency, but not in serious criticism.
