S: The Life of Calpurnia
FC: My Life
I work for Atticus Finch and help to raise his children, Scout and Jem. | I have grown up working for the Finches and the Bufords my whole life.
I work in the kitchen all day long, I love to cook
Atticus Finch, a lawyer, and my boss, is one of the most influential people in my life. He is a brave and kind man.
Scout is Atticus' daughter, although she is like a daughter to me as well. | Scout and I do not always get along, because I scold her frequently, but in the end we are still close.
The Tom Robinson Trial was a big part of my life. It was not a positive part, but it had a big impact on me and the ones I love.
The birth of my wonderful son Zeebo was an important event in my life
The Bible has a lot of meaning in Maycomb County
Zeebo and I both learned to read from Blackstone's Commentaries, and we are some of the few blacks who can read in Maycomb.
"It's not necessary to tell all you know. It's not ladylike--in the second place. Folks don't like to have somebody around knowin' more than they do. It aggrevates 'em. You're not gonna change any of them by talkin' right..." -Calpurnia
Calpurnia says this qoute after Scout notices her double-life. She doesn't want to insult her friends' intelligence by seeming smarter than them. She understands them and sees it from their point of view.
