Have you ever went back in time? How about going back to the Enlightment and The American Revolution? one little third grader and her whole class got to see what it was like back in the 1600's and 1700's.
It all started on a normal day of school. Adrian and her class was getting ready to open their history books when all of a sudden.... A black hole appeared in the front of the class. Ms.Andrews in shock, tried to open the door to get the children out, but it was too late. The children had disappeared into the hole.
The darkness had subsided and now Adrian and her classmates were greeted by a man with snow white hair and a gentle smile. Adrian realized who he was. It was Thomas Jefferson. He said,"Good day Children, and how are we today?" In a trembling voice, Adrian replied,"Where are we?"
He said," You are in Virgina in 1788." Adrian said,"Me and my class were just in our classroom about to start our history lesson when a big black hole sucked us all here." Thomas Jefferson in a comforting voice," Oh, i see what has happened. Your class has went back in time to the American Revolution." Adrian and her classmates were whispering and mummering when Thomas told them to follow him. They walked down a long hallway and end in a room lit by candles. He pointed at a table filled with old wooden chairs and the

" Well, my name is Thomas Jefferson. i wrote the Declaration of Independence in 1766. i am the founder of the university of Virgina, and i have designed many major buildings here in Virgina." Thomas talked on and on as the children asked questions. At the end, Adrian asked how her and her classmates get back to their school. Jefferson told them that they had to find John Locke and handed them a list.
The first thing on the list was Mary Wollstonecraft. her and her class had seen a sign earlier in the hall that had Mary's name on it. So they ran back down the hall and | opened the door. It was really dark and quiet until the door slammed behind them and another black hole appeared and sucked the children through it.
They appeared in a noisy salon with a lot of ladies talking about politics. in the center of the room was a gentle looking woman that greeted them. Adrian and the children approached her and asked if there was a Mary Wollstonecraft there.
She smiled and said i am her. She brought the children to a small room with a man in it and said that his name was Galileo Galilei and said that he invented the telescope. Then she opened a big door and told the kids to take the next portal to meet Volitaire. The children went through the portal and appeared in front of a man with a feather pen. he pointed to a big staircase and told the children to follow the big yellow footprints to the green door. They followed the footprints like he said and ended up at a lab with Thomas Hobbes' office. Hobbes told them about the Geocentric Theory and the Heliocentric Theory.
Then he told the children that John Locke was in the next room. The children ran to the next room were approached by a man. He said," All people are born free and equal with 3 natural rights- life, liberty, and property." Then he told the children to close their eyes and count to three. The children listened and counted..... "1....2...3...." When they opened their eyes they were back in their classroom.
The children were so relieved to be at school and Ms. Andrews was so happy when they returned.
