S: Cecilia Josephine Kehoe

FC: Cecilia Josphine Kehoe May 17th 1922- August 3rd 2010

Cecilia truly was a person who took full advantage of being a grandmother, something tells me that type of nurturing was passed on to my Aunt Denise. - Nick

My grandmother was a very special person in my life. I considered her an additional mother more so than just a grandmother. She was one of my best friends. I have always enjoyed her stories, and now that I am getting older, and have a daughter of my own, I appreciate that I was able to hear these stories directly from her and will be sure to share them with Chiara when she is older. – Lani

I could always count on her to be there when I needed her and this trait was definitely passed on to my mother Lezlie. – Nick

 family

Lezlie Kehoe and Denise Sommers truly are the byproduct of a wonderful person, my family would agree we have been more than fortunate to grow up with the guidance of her two amazing daughters. – Nick

There was not one ill-gotten item to be found in their home. I asked my grandmother what her involvement was with VE-Day; whether it was just as an observer or as an active participant. She laughed and coyly said, “Well.I did find something that I brought home." - Lani

It was amazing to see Nan welcome in yet another generation to our family. –Nick

We should consider ourselves lucky to have met and been inspired by a person who got joy in bringing happiness to others and I can’t help but feel like we have been extremely blessed in having had such an amazing family member. - Nick

Cecilia Josephine Kehoe passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, August 3, 2010. Ceily was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband Medford. She was the youngest daughter of George Abraham and Mariam Andrea. Her family was one of the first families to immigrate to Halifax from Lebanon. Ceily was a loving wife, good daughter, kind sister, fabulous mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, mother-in-law, and loyal friend. She was the ultimate caregiver and believed that family was paramount. Personable and witty, she made friends wherever she went and embraced life with gusto each and every day. She will be forever loved and missed. "Say not in grief, 'she is no more' but live in the thankfulness that she was."
