1: August 3, 1492 The light is calm, the day is stiff. My men are loading up the ship to a full capasity. I set aboard for India to attempt to find a water passage that can link us a faster way to get to India and ship there goods. To my calculations i believe this trip should take 2 to 3 weeks to find the passage. My guess is that we may encounter some rough points in our journey but i believe my crew will pull through. Most people laugh at the idea of going west becasue they say that, that is where the drop off the end of the world is. I do not believe in such a thing. I believe the world is round and that we will find this passsage and go down as a great explorer. Christopher Columbus

2: September 3, 1492 A month a passed away, and still no sight of land. The crew begins to doubt we will ever see coast again. They feel we are stranded on the water for good. The Santa Maria, the ship i am on, has taken heavy toll from the storms. Crews work night and day to repair the ship before the next storm hits. The food is becoming scarce and most of my crewing is becoming sick. I do feel myself to be growing slightly ill as well. I can feel the air cooling over. I believe we will have another storm by nightfall, which sha'll be the second storm this week. The crew worries that this storm may be the worst we've seen on the voyage. My crews morale slowly declines the longer we are out here. I pray to hope we will find landfall here shortly of we may be stranded for good. Christopher Columbus

3: October 11, 1492 As daylight broke upon the horizon, i woke up upon cheers and yells and dancing. As i approched the top of the deck i looked towards the horizon and there as i stared in praise was an outline of a very hilly place. We have found the waterway to India by going West! We set out on smaller boats as we approached land and everyone cheered with gratitude. The feel of the warm sand between our toes was the greatest feeling that we have felt in 2 months. The date was October 12th, the day after we had reached land, we set out for an embark on finding goods. We had walked for miles and stilll no sight of life at all. When we suddenly heard a sound from the bushes and a man jumped out. This man did not look like the people i had met form India. These mysterious people i called Indians. He brouht me to his camp were we met many other Indians just like him. They all barely had any clothes on. They treated us like we were royalty. This was not what i had remembered India as being. Later that night we searched for food and put them aboard our ship. In a weeks motice we sha'll leave back for Spain and I willl tell the King about this land that i do not believe is India. I do not excpect to see very many people when i get home, but i do believe i will be known for a great discovery. Christopher Columbus
