2: Geography and Climate! | Location: Deserts are mostly found in Australia, Mexico, North Africa, and Southwestern U.S. Soil Type: Soil is course-textured, shallow, rocky or gravely, and has good drainage. Precipitation: Deserts only get 1 in. of rainfall per year.

3: Climate: Climate is formed high pressure zones in which cold air descends. Temperature Range: There are hot and cold deserts. The temp. range is from 5 degrees Celsius to 25 degrees Celsius.

4: Biodiversity | Plant Species! Barrel Cactus: Wislizeni Brittle Bush: Farinosa Chainfruit Cholla: Fulgida Creosote Bush: Tridentata Cactus: Trigloch Idiatus

5: Animal Species Armadillo Lizard: Cataphractus Banded Gila Monster: Suspectum Cinetum Bobcat: Rufus Cactus Ren: Brunneicapillus Coyote: Latrans

6: Adaptations! | Plant Species! Jumping Cholla: Has a thick covering of spines and shades Brittle Bush: Hairs that form a blanket over leaves Joshua Tree: Spiney leaf turned upwards to catch any moisture.

7: Animal Species! Armadillo Lizard: Wriggles under sand to hide. Gila Monster: Skin is dry. It can't afford to lose fluid Bobcat: Like the rocky terrain.

8: Interaction! | Abiotic: Weather- Heat and dryness. Shelter: No caves or holes in the ground. Change in temp.- Gets hot during the day, but cold during the night.
