FC: Anglo Saxon Food& Drink By: Jhaznyn & Lachay
1: climate Anglo saxons lived in England, where the weather there was very cold and always rained.They were only limited to a certain amount of crops to grow.
2: Farming Anglo saxons ate what they grew in their farms. They grew cereal, wheat, corn, tomatoes, oats, animal food and porridge.
3: Drinks Barley was used to make beer which was one of there main drinks. They didn't drink water because it was often polluted. Wine was imported but only drank by the rich people.
4: Vegetables They had many main vegetables such as carrots, parsnips,cabbages, peas, beans and onions. Most anglo saxons were vegetarians so they also enjoyed all the vegetables.
5: Fruits Anglo saxon ate fruits such as apples, cherries and plums. They also enjoyed bananas pineapples and tomatoes.

7: Birds The warmer and drier sumers were one factor which extended the range of breeding species further north such as birds.They are rare vagrants and some raptors and fenladn species. | Sheep Anglo saxon sheep are from older varities which had survived in some of the main areas of Britain.
8: Plants The main groups of plants were cereals, wheat, fruits, bread, cabbage as well as vegetables. The food also contained a bulk diet.
9: Fish They fish eaten were herring, salmon and eel as much as some eaten today such as perch, pike and roach. The fish were eaten fresh but also preserved. This was done by salting, smoking then and drying. | Pigs The pigs were important for food because they produce large litters. The pigs kept gradually decreases throughout the anlo saxon period.
