FC: The Relationship Between Geography and Hannah Chalker
The Central Concepts | Place My street is a place because it has certain characteristics and features | Functional region | absolute location My address is an absolute location because it has an exact location spot on the earth | Site The site of my room is slightly messy, mis-matched, and antique because I have collected various antiques over time. | My kitchen is the central location because everyone in my family tends to be located there.
Spatial Interactions | core and periphery My core is my room, and the periphery is school | Friendship is a expansion diffusion because it spreads in every direction | Starbucks is an example of expansion diffusion because the store expands and grows by producing more in every town. | The central place of my house is the kitchen. We all really like to eat. Especially me!
Geographic Tools | Mental Map of the area of where I live and my educated guess of whats in that area | Topographic map of my region where I live. The red pin is where I live. I interact with the surrounding area. | This is the gravity model of the Frisco and Dallas area where I live.
Models | agriculture models | urban models | population models | spatial models
Geographic Models | GIS- This is an example of GIS. It show the Collin county area. It tells you about the landscape . | GPS-I took a picture of where my house is off my GPS that is on my phone. The GPS automatically shows me directions for where I need to go.
The mental map sums up the entire project to me.You can incorporate almost any geographical term and show creativity at the same time.
