FC: The Gingerbread Night before Christmas
Twas a Ginger-bread night before Christmas and all through the Ginger-bread house not a creature was stirring not even a marzipan mouse. The giant candy wrappers were hung by the chocolate chimney with care, in hopes that Santa claus soon would be there.
The Ginger-Bread children were nestled all snug in their gram-cracker beds, while visions of candy danced in their heads. And mamma ginger-bread in her wrapped up fruit roll-up and I in my hallowed-out peanut butter cup had just settled our icing brains and put our feet up.
When out on the green icing there arose such a crash I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter. Away to the window I flew with great haste I tore open the shutters with no time to waste, The moon on the crest of the new fallen cotton candy , gave luster of mid-day to objects that are dandy. when what to my wondering gum-drops should appear a giant candy sleigh and eight massive reindeer
With a fat old driver so cherry and quick I knew in an instant it must be St.Nick, more speedy than hawks his reindeer they came he whistled and shouted and called them by name."Now Peppermint! Now Gum-Drop! Now Plum-drop and peanut-butter cup! On Coca and Candy! On Chocolate and Caramel! to the top of the chimney to the top of the candy chunks on the wall! Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!
As dead leaves before the crazy hurricane fly, when they meet with an obstacle collide in the sky, so up to the housetop the reindeer they flew. With the sleigh full of candy and St. Nick too. And then in a sparkling I heard on the roof the scratching and pawing of each chocolate hoof
As i thought in my head, and was turning around down the chimney Santa came with a bound. He was dressed in red licorice from head to foot and his clothes were colored with coca powder soot. | A bundle of candy he had flung on his back, he looked like a candy man just opening his sack. His eyes how they sparkled! his dimples so merry! His cheeks like a red lollipop, his nose like a cherry!
The end of his pipe he held tight in his teeth, and the smoke encircled his head head like a cloudy wreath. He had a broad face and a large round belly it wiggled when he chuckled like a bowl full of jelly He was chunky and plump, a right jolly old elf, and I laughed when i saw him inspite of myself. A pound of his candy cane and a jerk of his head, I knew in a moment I had nothing to dread.
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his job, and and filled all the wrappers and turned with a bob. And laying a finger on his cherry red nose and giving a nod up the chimney he rose!
He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a tweet, and away they all flew like a rush of summer heat. But I heard him cry back when he flew out of sight, " Merry Christmas to all, and to all a goodnight!"
