1: Global warming has become the most talked of topic in the news, over the years. It is the result of adding to much Carbon Dioxide to the air. As of 1997 the glaciers have lost 890 cubic miles of ice because of the temperatures rising to fast. The average temperature has changed 1.4 degrees fahrenheit since 1980. By 2040 scientists believe that we will have an ice free year if global warming doesn't stop.
2: On the other side of the argument, scientists do believe that humans are causing Global Warming. In fact, 97% of climate experts agree that humans are the issue. They say that pollution is increasing by using cars, trucks, or running factories. This is a sign of using the greenhouse effect too much. The greenhouse effect is the result of water vapor, carbon dioxide, and other gases trapping energy, which results in the earth being warmer than usual. American citizens can also see the evidence left behind by global warming. For example, glaciers melting, extreme drought in some countries, and flooding in other places. Also, more trees are being cut down for homes. Trees actually help our environment. They collect carbon dioxide, which is the harmful gas. Even some of our favorite animals are dying; the polar bear and penguins. At discovermagazine.com, professors are saying that temperatures will keep rising at least 5 degrees world wide, and it won’t stop until we fix the issue. “That would mean four to five Fahrenheit degrees of warming for the world as a whole, raising sea levels by a meter or more.” And it won’t stop there, he says. Sea levels might eventually even rise five meters, submerging the world’s low-lying lands, including most of Florida.” Today, many people wonder if their kids will ever get to see a polar bear because of global warming. If we act now, we may be able to stop this crisis. | People For Global Warming
4: "Physicists tend to be super critical of strong conclusions, but the data on Global warming now indicate that the conclusions are not strong enough." Leon M. Lederman | People Against Global Warming | To many people in our world today, Global warming is not the main priority. Other factors, they argue, contribute to the destruction of our ozone layer. "If you look at the long term records, The arctic has been warmer then it is today." John Christy, a climate expert exclaimed. Countless arguments have been aimed not to the factors of Global Warming but the scientists themselves. Scientists have made wrong predictions before so who is to say their not wrong this time, too.
