2: 2007 | 1. What caused the Great Depression? | The depression was caused by high tariffs and war debt, over production in industry and agriculture. The stock market crash and financial panic were two big factors. And lastly unequal distribution of wealth.

4: The depression lasted for 9 years. | 2. How long did the Depression last?

5: 3. What was life like during the great depression? Life during the depression was terrible for people, everyone was suffering. ITALY

6: 4. Who was affected by the great depression? Everyone, everywhere was affected by the great depression. Over 15 million people were jobless.

8: The depression ended by small acts, business started lowering prices which lead to family's being able to buy things they needed. It all lead to the economy growing again. The final straw of the depression was when the government got involved with world war II | seeing the city from above | 5. How did the great depression end?

12: We enjoyed our trip amidst the rain, fog and cold windy days. We did a lot of walking and travelled long distances with our heavy backpacks... and loved it.

14: There was more than one occasion where we had to be resourceful and live on the streets because we missed a train or couldnt find a hostel.

17: Backpacking took us to many beautiful verdant places. Our granola bars kept u alive during long walks.

19: There were many street artists who were very talented. Too bad our backpacks had no space for artwork.

23: Eating gelato, meeting strangers, living in hostels, walking along coastlines, sleeping on trains, going to festivals, eating authentic foods, learning transportation systems, buying groceries; It was all a great experience, despite the rainy days, getting lost, and taking trains in wrong directions. Immersing in different cultures taught us a lot and opened our eyes to a little bit more of the world around us.
