BC: The End

FC: Presenting an Adib and Kevin production.

Artemis The Goddess of the Hunt Greek Name: Artemis Roman Name: Diana

Artemis was the daughter of Zeus and Leto, and the twin sister of Apollo. She was the Goddess of the hunt, the wilderness, wild animals, fertility. Her domain was the forest.

Her Symbols were the Silver Bow and Arrow. Artemis was a virgin.

"At three years old, Artemis asked her father, Zeus, while sitting on his knee, to grant her six wishes. Her first wish was to remain chaste for eternity, and never to be confined by marriage. She then asked for lop-eared hounds, stags to lead her chariot, and nymphs to be her hunting companions, 60 from the river and 20 from the ocean. | Myth

Also, she asked for a silver bow like her brother Apollo. He granted her wishes. All of her companions remained virgins, and Artemis guarded her own chastity closely.

Artemis was famous for being a very physically strong goddess, and skilled in archery. Though some of her weaker points was the fact that she was often jealous of people and she angered easily.

From the age of three Artemis swore to her virginity. All of the women who swear loyalty to her swear to stay virgins. Artemis's nymphs hunt with her and are her companions.

Artemis was also a god not to be messed with. There were many instances where someone would compare themself to her or even look at her pervertedly. When they would do this she would most of the time just kill them on the spot.

One example of this was when Artemis was bathing after a long day of hunting. A mortal hunter happened to come across her bathing and stood there and watched. Artemis, angry that the man was watching her, turned the man into a stag. She then sent her dogs out to eat him.

Another example showing that she is tempered is the story of Iphigenia. While in Troy, Agamemnon was hunting deer. When he had made a fine shot he said,"Artemis herself could not do it better." Artemis was angry that she was even compared to a mortal. She was not going to let this go. She demanded that Agamemnon sacrifice his daughter. Artemis kept his ship out at sea until he sacrificed his daughter. Agamemnon eventually gave into the god and sacrficed his daughter
