1: You Will Learn About ..... | Russia Day | Chinese New Year | Christmas in Italy | Christmas in Germany
2: Russia Day | It is celebrated on June 12th and is somewhat similar to independence day here in America. While we are having parades in many cities in America and waving flags on the Fourth of July , the Russians are doing the same on June 12th. We also have fireworks and parties; so do the Russians on Russia Day . Another thing that Russians do to celebrate Russia Day is to give out awards to famous or important Russians. But some people think of Russia day as just a day off.

5: The Russian flag and a two-headed eagle, are the state symbols of the Russian Federation. They are the most common symbols in Russia on Russia Day.That in 1994 , people didn't want to celebrate Russia Day . They thought it was a waste of time . That is like saying you don't like your country . It shows you don't have any National Pride . | Russia Day
6: Chinese New Year | Chinese New Year is on Sunday, February 10, 2013. Chinese New Year is the longest and most important celebration in the Chinese Calender. People wear red clothes, write and decorate poems on red paper, and give kids"lucky money" in red envelopes. - Thats a lot of red ! All this red symbolizes fire, which drives away bad luck
8: Chinese New Year | In China, the New Year is a time of family reunion. The family gathers at each others home . They have lots of fun . The 15-day long Chinese New Year celebration originated from an ancient Chinese legend of the monster Nian. Chinese New Year is also called Spring Feistable or Lunar New Year . Chinese New Year starts with a New Moon and ends with a full moon . The Chinese have a candy tray that is called " The Tray of Togetherness ". After taking some pieces of candy from the tray, parents place a red envelope in the center of the tray. Each item represents some kind of good fortune ;

12: Italian Christmas | The Christmas season in Italy goes for three weeks, starting 8 days before Christmas known as the Novena. In some parts of Italy , shepherds bring musical instruments into the villages. They play and sing Christmas songs . Christmas Eve is known as the Night of the Seven Fishes . The Family gets together the night before Christmas . They have a feast that includes seven different types of fish . The seven fish tradition started in Southern Italy.
14: Italian Christmas | Christmas decorations including the " presepe " ( Nativity Set/Scene ) , and a Christmas trees are put up . In Italy , Christmas is based on Christianity . As you might know Italians like their food . They eat ZUCCHINE IN AGRODOLCE or Sweet and Sour Zucchine . They also have a sweet tooth .Some Italians eat SPUMETTI or Chocolate - Hazelnut Meringues .
16: German Christmas | One of the major holidays in Germany is Christmas or Weihnachten. German celebrating begins on December 6th, St. Nikolaus Day. As part of the Christmas tradition kids hang a shoe or boot in the fireplace . Then at night Santa OR St. Nikolaus comes. He can tell if the children are good or bad . If they are good St. Nikolaus fills the boot with lots of candies . If the kids were not good , their boot will be filled with twigs .
18: German Christmas | The most popular Christmas tradition in Germany is the Christmas tree. These trees have a special significance for Germans and also are known like "trees of life". Germans hang a glass pickle as an ornament on the tree . This is an old tradition .The German tradition states that the pickle brings good luck and is the last ornament placed on the Christmas tree.
