2: Christianity is fundamental to a majority of Jamaican life . The island has the highest number of churches per capita in the world and more than 100 Christian denominations and is home to one of the largest variety of religious groups.

3: Christianity is the primary faith on the island, and more than 62% of the population identifies as Protestant. The two largest Protestant churches in Jamaica are the Seventh - day Adventist and Pentecostal. | Although each only represents about 10% of the population. The trend toward evangelical Christianity began in the 1980s.

4: Cuisine: Jamaican cuisine is healthy because it is made with many unprocessed foods, uses smaller portions of meats. The Jamaican diet is based on meats, vegetables, exotic fruit, spices and the staples of corn, rice, yams, and cassava. Rice is usually the main food for most of Jamaica’s celebrations, such as weddings & festivals. Common Jamaican fruits almost unknown outside the Caribbean include star apple, sour sop, sweet sop, ortanique, ugli fruit, and naseberries. Jamaicans also enjoy such fruits as citrus, mangos, and papayas, all of which grow abundantly.

The seating is open with wooden tables and a thatched roof and bar. One of the biggest attractions to Scotchie’s is their big open fire pit where they grill all of their meats and fish. For the quality of food they offer at Scothchie’s, the pricing is extremely reasonable. As Trip Advisor’s top rated restaurant in Jamaica, Scotchie’s is a must-go restaurant.
