Today when we came to school our room had been trashed by a Leprechaun. Everything was all over the place. Chairs moved around, crayon boxes scattered everywhere , gold on the floor, but worst of all POPPY was a Gecko!!! The police even had to come and take a statement of what we had seen and what had happened. We had to even take finger prints which led us to nothing. We looked for the Leprechaun, but all we found was a shoe. Here are some of the pictures of how the room looked and what happened. Boy did that Leprechaun leave us with a MESS to clean up.
Here we are learning about sink and float. We are with our boats we made to see if they would sink or float.

These were our community helper reports that we did. We had all different helpers that we talked about. Some had their helper come in and talk to us and some of us dressed up like our helper. We had nurses, fireman, police officers, farmers, postal workers and much more.
K-Kids INC. As you all know we spent numerous hours making bracelets, flower pens and snack mix, to sell to the students and to anyone that wanted to buy. We had first and second shift workers and even had to work some overtime in order to keep production going. The profits from K-Kids Inc. went to Mrs. Ralston in the kitchen so that she could purchase a warming oven. We were able to raise $900 in sales and then received $200 from Thrivent to make our grand total of $1100.
Here we are with our 3rd grade reading buddies. They would come once a week and read with us, and also helped us other times during the year for special projects.
In May we had Safety Town with Deputy Rod. We learned all kinds of Safety Rules that we are to use.
For 21 days we anxiously watched eggs in an incubator and awaited the arrival of our baby chicks. We had 7 chicks hatch. After a few days with them in the classroom, Alex took them home to live on his farm.
On May 12th we went to Eljer Park and had Field Day. We did different events and had a great time playing with our friends.
This is the quilt that our class made for the Holly and the Ivy auction. Carter's mom won the quilt at the auction.
With the end of the year we had lots more to add but not enough time. We thanked our parents for all that they did by giving the Mom's a Mother's Tea and did a little program about the ocean for them and read our ocean poems. For the Dad's we had to make paper airplanes with them and then they came to school and flew them with us. We also took some walking trips around town to the Hospital, the Post Office, the Bank, and the Fire Dept. which was a lot of fun and we learned a lot about what our community helpers do.
