BC: I was soon crossing the ocean to return to my little home town of Bukittinggi which was tucked uphill in the volcanic region of west sumatra.
FC: Lena's Wonderful Posse
It does take me over a year to muster up the courage to share these tame pics with anyone. | those were fun times .. | First stop, the customary night out with the girls. Here's after passing our pole dancing exam.
I was soon crossing the ocean to return to my little home town of Bukittinggi which was tucked uphill in the volcanic region of west sumatra.
and sure enough Mr Right followed suit.
I dunno who organised these whole festives
Food aside, island hopping was also in my routine. Here's at Padang airport which looks like a japanese bus stop. | Taking a deep breath before a meet & greet with more relos in Jakarta | And more food ofcourse. | But the food was glorious, marvellous, absolutely delicious and mostly fiery!!!! My most vivid memory was sitting there thinking gosh, this is 10 times better than the food we'd have in sydney's reception and it costs equivalent to just 5 sydney guests for the whole deal .... yummmy yummy yummy ....
Mingling with the Colonial-era's Girl's Power.
In fact i took one of them home to Sydney. | So on the beautiful Big Day | As I say I do to Mr Right, Navaka is .. err, making sure that the crowd is perfectly under control. | The Crowd
Next up, we were off to honeymoon in Sri Lanka. | And watched shows | But my honeymoon four poster bed was way too tall for me. I lived in fear of falling off that prehistoric piece. | I guess the sound of the waves & the sway of the palms just outside our windows more than compensated the bed situation. | We hang out with Asanga's old mates
As you move away from the cities, the beds get better. We were at the Lighthouse hotel near Galle. | And the bathroom, even better. | And the surrounding, better better better!! | I played with baby mutant ninja turtles.
... was how to relax | We moved further away from the city, away from the beaches and on to the mountains | I didn't know where i was going. But I didn't need to. As all I needed to know ...
So i roamed the countryside alone. | I took the road less travelled. | perhaps it is the change of altitude that got Asanga ill.
And even made friends with the locals. I gave this boy a tip for taking me around. Apparently that tip was enough to buy him & his family shoes and more (he was without shoes). When Asanga found out he promptly gave me a lecture on Sri Lankan Rupee's and the denominations as well as confiscating some of the bigger notes off me. Lesson: never let you wife hike alone and never trust her with your currency. | The charming, charming town of nuwara eliya | I discovered fascinating villages
I visited 6 of the Unesco's world heritage listed sites in my only 10 days in Sri Lanka. Here at the ancient cities of anuradhapura.
An encounter with a wild elephant. He was really cute. | Nothing beats the street food!
@ The ancient cities of polonnaruwa | Where the princess used to bath .. (i think ..)
Elephant safari at Minneriya National Park. The baby elephant weight 70kg so it was not possible to pack her up and take em to Sydney.
Getting ready to climb my favourite site, the ancient city of Sigiriya. | On the climb we discovered some nude-ish pictures favoured by the old king. | Through the lion's mouth .. | At Elephant's Corridor (a misleading name for the hotel as there were no elephant in sight).
or maybe just the highest step on Sigiriya. | we reached the top of the world ..
after all those hikes & climbs in the heat, it felt good to just crash in your hotel room. | this ruin used to be a palace, with throne, swimming pools, rooms, the works. | the steep climb down.
