1: Why I selected this country. | I've always wanted to visit this country, I love the food, and I think it would be a beautiful place to visit.

4: Climate: Predominantly Mediterranean. Population: 58,041,577 Religion:Roman Catholic Ethnic makeup: Italy has Italians, small groups of German-, French-, and Slovene-Italians in the north and Albanian-Italians and Greek-Italians in the south

6: The official language of Italy is Italian, 93% of the population speaks it. -Italians will judge you on your clothes, shoes, accessories and the way you carry yourself. -The concept of 'bella figura' or good image is important to Italians.

8: Italian Customs and Etiquette. Do not give chrysanthemums as they are used at funerals. If you are staying in Italy for an extended period of time, it is a good idea to have calling cards made. Never give your business card in lieu of a calling card in a social situation. Once a relationship develops, air-kissing on both cheeks, starting with the left is often added as well as a pat on the back between men. Do NOT wrap gifts in purple, because purple is a sign of bad luck. Greetings are enthusiastic but rather formal.

10: Etiquette and Protocol -People in Italy like to talk face to face, it helps build relationships. -Take time to ask questions about the people that you work with, or family. -In the Northern part of Italy, everyone is punctual, and most of your colleagues will be on time. -Have all printed material in both a English copy and a Italian one. -Italians would rather do business with people that they trust.
