3: Marie and Pierre Curie marry in 1895

5: Madame Curie has a daughter, named Irene in 1897. She begins teaching high school physics a few years after her daughter was born.

7: Marie and her husband Pierre win a Nobel Prize for Physics in 1903

8: Pierre Curie dies in 1906 by a horse-drawn carriage

9: In 1906 Marie starts a cooperative school for Irene and other children

11: Marie Curie won her second Nobel Prize for Chemistry in 1911

12: From 1914-1918 Marie organizes 20 mobile x-ray cars and 200 radiological posts to treat wounded soldiers in World War 1.

13: Marie becomes member of the League of Nations' International Commission on Intellectual Cooperation. She is elected to the Academy of Medicine.

14: Marie's daughter Irene marries Frederic Joliot in 1926

15: Marie curie dies on July 4, 1934
