BC: Martin Luther King Jr. was a well known speaker for African-American rights. Ever since he was a child. He was a great impact in the years leading up to his assassinated on April fourth 1968.

1: Gone With the Wind is important to the story because when they read the book ,that's one of the first times Ponyboy realizes how smart Johnny really is. He seemed to have understood the book even more than him. Johnny even thought of Dally as a "Southern Gentlemen." Photo obtained from Historicaljonesboro.com

2: The blue mustang is important to the story because, it is the car Bob Sheldon and his pal Randy Adderson drove around in. Ponyboy said "it was one of the toughest cars he's ever seen". Photo from: carsrevolution.com

3: The Beatles were important and one of the best things in the 60's because Their clothes, styles, and statements made them trend-setters and were very popular thought the Country with the almost unique style of music.Photo obtained from iamthebeatles.com

4: In the sixties, people didn't really know the dangerous and long term effects smoking had. 5: Drive ins were very popular in the 1950s-1960s. Ponyboy went there with his friends Dally Winston and Johnny Cade, where he first met Cherry Valence and her friend Marcia.

6: Violence was also part of the book. Greasers aka "hoods" were often jumped by socs.They did it for kicks, and often just used there fist, while greasers often carried switchblades and guns. 9: Marilyn Monroe was a very talented singer actress and model. She basically had the glitz and glam of being a celebrity during her time. She went from being an orphan and one of the most adored woman on television | kerentravels.wordpress is the website this photo was obtained from.
