26: Dear Joel Thanks to Kiko for this space in your scrapbook. We never did get to say goodbye when you left Manila (or have I just forgotten?) and so now, it seems quite odd to be saying goodbye as you leave Phnom Penh. What do I have to do with Phnom Penh, anyway? And you are not even leaving OGB yet, while I myself have been gone for ages (or so it seems...) Still, it feels good to be a part of this and my only regret is that I hardly have any photos to share. (had successive hard disk crashes and lost quite a lot of photos; have asked Choy to copy me with whatever still remains in the OGB files, but he hasn't delivered yet. .am still hoping he does, one of these days.) I had mixed feelings about the one I have here (one of those I managed to recover from the crashed HD, but unfortunately, has lost its original color.) I didn't like it at first and frantically looked for another that would evoke a happier memory. But as I write this, I get more and more convinced that somehow, it is okay to also be reminded of the sad, exhausting days of our lives. This must be one of them. Kitang-kita sa body language mo, di ba?
27: I can still remember that week in May, over four years ago, when we kept working, isolated from the rest of the team while they had the fun of their lives at the Laiya beach. And then we called them all back in, to tell them the inevitable But life goes on. And so it did for everyone of us who were there at that meeting. I guess it was one of your many cross roads, and it is good to know that you have carried on and successfully pursued your own path. There has never been an occasion to say this and another opportunity might not present itself in years, if at all, so here goes – working with you has been nothing but loads of fun, inspiration and challenge. I do miss those days and will always fondly remember them. Best of luck as you continue your journey and big warm hugs to Ofelia and the kids Jud
