FC: My 6th Grade Year By: Sophia Waldron
I dedicate this book to my 6th grade class.
My 6th grade year was my best school year so far. I've done lots of things. But first, I will start with my first day of school...
Well my first day of school was actually everyones second day of school because I got sick. I knew right away that I had more teachers because I had four teachers last year. And there were a lot of people in my class so I made some more friends too. So more teachers means more classes. The day seemed really short because we switched more often. So that is my first day of school.
One thing that probably made this year my best school year is band. I love band because I love music. I am really glad I have the opportunity to read music and play the flute.
In January, something really exciting happened... it snowed!!! It was one of the most funnest days this year. | Then in band, this thing called solo and ensemble. That is where you pick a group of people and you go to school on a Saturday and you play a piece of music and you get a rating. My group got a medal.
Another thing that we did was Amazon projects. We did about 3 or 4 projects about the Amazon.
A few weeks after that, we went to Mission to Mars. That is where we go to the Museum of Natural Science and we do a mission to mars! I thought that was really fun!!!
Next, thing we did at school was free seating. That is where during lunch, we get to sit wherever we want to!!! Sadly though, it didn't last long...
Another thing we did was go on a field trip to York Jr. High. We went and looked around the school.
The last and most funnest thing I've done is The Vogel Wind Ensemble. That is where a group of people from band (about 65 people) stay after school until 5:00 and practice for this competition. About three weeks ago, we went to the competition and after we played we went to Incredible Pizza. I was really fun!!! A few days later, we found out that we got best in our class!!! It was really really fun.
That is why sixth grade was my favorite year so far. i can't wait to see what next year is like!!!
