 Emilee Ryan Reed April 8, 2008 10:13 am 7lbs 7 oz 17 3-4 inches
Mommy's due date was April 14, 2008. You were breech so you were born by C-Section on April 8. We got to Arlington Memorial Hospital around 7am and you were born at 10:13. Dr. Krombach, mommy's doctor delivered you. He is a wonderful doctor. Daddy and Mommy were the first people to hold you.
We saw the name Emilee and fell in love with it. We loved the unique spelling. Daddy loved the name Ryan for a baby boy. We decided to use Ryan for a middle name because it is original for a girl. | You were born with red hair and blue eyes. It surprised everyone because Mommy and Daddy both have dark hair. You were absolutely beautiful.
Emilee's Room | Before we knew you were a girl we made a promise. If we had a boy the room wouldn't be decorated in sports, and if we had a girl, no pink. We looked everywhere for the perfect bedding and found the ladybugs. Daddy hand-painted the dresser and made the ladybug letters from scratch. He did an amazing job! From the time we put your crib in the room, Sadie loved to sleep underneath it. She started protecting you before you arrived.
Lots of visitors excited to meet you!
Tiny fingers, tiny toes, itty-bitty button nose
 Baby's Favorite Things
Walking with your Lion | Swinging | Baby's Favorite Things To Do | Singing with your Sit and Sing State | Looking out the window with Sadie
April We brought you home from the hospital and were amazed with how small you were. At first you wanted to be held but once you were about 3-4 weeks old you loved your papasan chair and your swing. You hated tummy time.
May 2008 May was a very busy month. We took you to College Station for a wedding and visited Texas A&M. Daddy hopes that you will go there. We took our first trip to the Botanical Gardens, you and Daddy bought me a Magnolia tree for Mother's Day, and we had your Baby Dedication at Crossroads, our church. You loved bath time and looking up at your rainforest gym.
June 2008 Gran came and stayed with us all summer and took care of you. You had so much fun with her. She played with you all day long. You could push yourself off on the floor and sit in your Bumbo chair. For Father's Day you helped Daddy set up his salt-water fish tank. You also smiled and giggled for the first time. You continually melt our hearts.
July 2008 We had so much fun playing dress up with you. You started playing in your Exersaucer and loved it. It was the only thing that kept your attention for more than 3 minutes at a time. We went to the lake for your first 4th of July.
August 2008 You continue to amaze us. We had so much fun doing silly things to make you laugh. You started going to Primrose Schools. It was very hard for Mommy but you adjusted very well. You also started consistently sleeping through the night.. Mommy and Daddy were very thankful. Daddy turned 29 and you bought him some fish for his tank.
September 2008 We went to Abilene for Gran's family reunion. Everyone thought you were adorable. We started feeding you rice cereal. You hated it at first but grew to like it. We had fun watching your reactions with each new baby food we gave you.
October 2008 Wow- what a busy month. You got your first tooth, starting sitting up and can roll all the way over. You were a pumpkin for your first parade at school. We took you to your first pumpkin patch and let you pick out a pumpkin. For Halloween you were a purple monster.
November 2008 You have 2 teeth now. We bought you a Leap Frog Learning table and you can stand up at it and play. You had your first Thanksgiving in Breckenridge at Gran and Jingles house. We took you to the Parade of Lights in downtown Ft. Worth and you had a lot of fun. You loved the Christmas tree we put up. The day we put it up you started crawling.
December 2008 You started pulling up by yourself. Your said your first word, BYE BYE. You also had tubes put in your ears and a frenulectomy. You had a very rough recovery and were in a lot of pain. I was not happy with the ENT. We took you to the zoo for the first time. You loved the penguins so much.
Christmas 2008 We had so much fun with your first Christmas. You got so many cool toys but you really loved playing with the bows and wrapping paper. You also loved the Christmas tree.
January 2009 We got you a lion that you can walk behind for Christmas. You love walking all over the house with it. You can cruise around as long as you hold on to something. | We went shopping in the Southlake Town Square and had fun taking your picture. You can also stand up on your own..
February 2009 You love Ritz crackers. You would eat the whole box if we let you. Daddy built you a swing and you love swinging outside. You also love eating bananas. There is a low window in your bedroom and you love to look out the window with Sadie. We took you to the Dallas World Aquarium and you loved the flamingos
March 2009 You have 8 teeth. You love playing outside and you love for us to chase you through the house. You took your first unassisted steps for Mommy and Daddy. You were a bunny in your Spring Bonnet parade at school. We took your picture in some bluebonnets in our neighbor's yard. We took you to a playbround for the first time. You had fun crawling everywhere.
April 2009 You are so close to walking. We got you a car for your birthday and you love it. You also loved your first cupcake.
For your first birthday we rented out a rec room. We did a jungle theme with lots of animals. You had lots of fun and loved the birthday cake.
April 2009 Wow what an awesome first year. We had birthday and Easter pictures made and they turned out great. You are so much fun. You are such a happy baby. You love to laugh and play.

Emilee, I can’t even begin to tell you how much I love you. We were so happy to find out we were finally pregnant with you. God has blessed us so much with you. I look forward to every moment that I get to spend with you and I miss you when we are apart. The first time you smiled you melted our hearts. Your giggle is infectious and makes me smile. There is nothing better than seeing you reach your arms up to be held. I can’t wait to see what God has in store for you. Every day I wonder where you will go to college and what you will be when you grow up. No matter what path you choose Daddy and I will love you unconditionally. You are the light of our lives and you make our family complete. Every day with you is better than the last. You are my sunshine. Love, Mommy
Emilee, I would first like to wish you a happy birthday. This is a big day for our little princess! We’ve had many milestones along the way and it is really hard to believe that a year has already gone by. It has been really neat seeing you grow and develop. You explore everything just looking to experience all this world can offer. You have grown up so quick, it seems like just yesterday you were working to hold your head up or starting to crawl. Now you’re starting to walk, it is just amazing. By the way, you did say “Da-Da” first, don’t let Mom fool you. Seriously though, you are truly a gift from heaven and you make so many people happy with just your presence. Who knew red hair would get so much attention? We love you so much Emilee and we only want the best for you. Each day we spend together keeps getting better. You light up our lives and we are truthfully lucky to have you. You can accomplish anything, and we are here to support you. Every day we thank God for you, and we can’t wait to see what He has in store for us this year! Love, Daddy
