FC: My journey to Europe By: Kay dang

Hi, my name is Joesph Smith, and I'm from North Carolina. Tomorrow is going to be the best day of my life. I plan to set out to Europe.

Later on that day, when I had finished making my plans for my voyage to Europe I headed to Thomas Jefferson's house, he was my best friend. I wanted to ask him to come with me to Europe but he couldn't, because he was in the middle of writing the Declaration of Independence. So, he couldn't come with me.

But, according to my map I should be in Europe in about two hours!! I can hardly wait!! | So far, I'm right on track going to a voyage was harder than I thought. There are a lot of huge waves coming.

I finally made it to Europe, it was long but worth it. It was about five month out at sea, we were almost out of food. But now that I'm here thats all that matters.

When i got off the ship, i started walking around to see all the sites. A lot of the European paintings, and sculptures were very baroque.

Later that day, I accidentally bumped into a man named Thomas Hobbes. he was busy writing something,"what are you writing?" I asked, " Well, if you must know I'm writing a social contract telling why i think the best government is absolute monarchy" he said. he didn't seem very nice at all

Today, I met a man named John Locke. He was a philosophe, who taught me that a lot about the human nature. he seemed very nice and he believed that people had three rights - Life, Liberty, property. Then i started thinking how his opinion was very different from Thomas Hobbes'

Another great day in Europe. Today i went to a salon to get haircut, but when i walked in there wasn't any barbers. All the men sat there and just talked about there latest discoveries.

When I walked in the salon, all I could hear was people talking about three men, Copernicus, Kepler, and Galileo. | Who came up with this idea for science called The Scientific Method". This Method was used to gather and test ideas.

As I was in the salon there was even more talk about the Enlightenment. What was the enlightenment? Was it a new trend or something? i wondered all day what Enlightenment meant.....

The next day, i was still wondering what Enlightenment was. Then when I met a man named Francois Marie Arcout, or as all his friends called him Voltaire. He told me that it was a movement that stressed the power of individuals to solve problems.

Today, I went to the store to get some supplies. While I was in the store I met two interesting ladies named Mary Wollstonecraft, and Catherine the Great. They were the best of friends. Mary Wollstonecraft was very into women's right, she wanted women to go politics. Catherine the Great was the ruler of Russia. My first impression of them was that they seem like great people, but all they could talk about was their accomplishments, they kept going on and on. i didn't want to be rude, so i just kept listening

So far, being in Europe has been great. I've met so many great people and I've learned a lot of the Scientific Revolution I think I'll in Europe a little longer. Hopefully, next time Thomas will come with me to see how great Europe.
