2: What Is Nuclear Energy? | Nuclear energy is the energy created by atoms that are being split, or combined. The name for this process is called "Fission". This process takes place in nuclear plants.

3: Fission and fusion | Fission is the process of combining, splitting, or regenerating, etc. of atoms into usually two fragments of the same mass, with the release of large amounts of energy in the form of heat and radiation. | Fusion is the process of combining light nuclei. As an energy source, fusion has several advantages over fission: the light nuclei are abundant and easy to get a hold of, and the end products of fusion are usually light, and stable nuclei.


5: Nuclear energy is not necessarily a clean energy source. It is said that nuclear energy plants are clean energy sources because they do not release any carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide, or nitrogen oxides. It is true, but a scam as well. I say this because,nuclear power plants may not release carbon dioxide during operation, but plants use uranium as fuel and the process of mining for uranium releases carbon dioxide into the environment. Carbon Dioxide is released when nuclear power plants are being built as well. | CARBON DIOXIDE!!!

6: Radioactive Waste!!! | Radioactive waste from nuclear power plants can stay active for hundreds of thousands of years and is a huge concern. Radioactive waste from nuclear power plants are stored at the exact same power plant. Since storage space is reducing quickly, nuclear power plants will eventually have to resort to another solution which will be to bury the waste in the Yucca mountains in Nevada. There are serious issues about burying waste. For example,the waste is contained in casks which are transported by trucks. If the truck meets an accident, the environment will be exposed to the waste. Another example, The casks can possibly leak once buried. There is no solution as to how we are going to dispose radioactive waste. The waste can both damage the environment and kill the creatures living amongst it.

7: Short Term And Long Term Effects!!! | When exposed to nuclear waste, your DNA is most likely damaged meaning, the exposure causes the DNA to change shape. When the DNA changes shape, it causes the cells to divide unnaturally, die, or dysfunction. After you have been exposed to radioactive waste, you will get regular symptoms like nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, etc. If these symptoms constantly occur, you have a greater chance of getting thyroid cancer, blood cancer, or bowel cancer. Getting cancer and mutations are what people fear most.

8: DISASTERS!!! | The most devastating nuclear incident is the Chernobyl event. This incident didn't only cause pain and agony for most people that lived near the power plant, but also affected children. As the result of the incident, children had mutations and scars. People got cancer. Some even died. This event was a very unfortunate one.
