Bryce & Brittany's Wedding | Monday, September 13, 2010 | Monday was my 2nd doctors appointment. I thought I still had about 3 wks/month to go before this baby would be born. To my surprise, I found out Dr. Deb was going by the due date of Sept. 20/27th (I thought Oct.7th) I was dilated to 2 centimeters already and 80% effaced... no wonder I had been having lower back pain and cramping the week before:) What a huge surprise to me when she said she is pretty sure she would be seeing me back in a week or so!! | Aug. 21, 2011

September 15, 2010: I woke up at 6a.m. with contractions. I slept and laid around all day (Mark stayed home from school and took care of the kids). Savannah had brought the piano into the bedroom and asked me if I would like her to sing to me instead of listening to a cd. It was so cute as her and Lily "played" and sang to me. They were happy to help dad with lunch and serve it to me on a platter in the living room.!

I called the hospital and our Doula, Jill, throughout the day to give them updates... | This was about an hour before we left to the hospital... pictures between contractions!

Our little Onnika was born 25 minutes after we got to the hospital. Perfect.!! | ... Sugar and spice and everything nice, that's what little girls are made of... | Mark making my pain pill with essential oils! | 7:11p.m. | Contractions...

 Dr. Deb

Mark was supposed to be at school taking an exam at the exact time Onnika was born. He had been debating on going at about 3p.m... Good thing he didn't!! | Our precious little girl, Onnika! | Jill & Onnika | I felt SO good very shortly after the birth. Mark went to the store to get some fruit for us and I got some other stuff from the nurses. Felt GREAT to eat and I felt AWESOME!!

Dad stayed the night w/us after you were born. The next morning he had to leave to school and to work in WI. I was bummed he wouldn't be coming back to see us at all anymore in the hospital, but he hasn't worked much being he's in school full time, so had to let him go!

Progress | Grandma & Grandpa surprised me one late morning to and meet you. It was perfect timing.!I hadn't had any visitors yet. Dad had left the morning before to meet Grandma Meredith in Wisconsin to give her his truck to go take care of Lily & George. Dad had to stay in WI and work for the rest of the week and weekend:( !

I had the most difficult time picking out your middle name and spelling of your first name! Finally Grandma R. helped me decide after calling her 2 or 3 times. I decided at 5p.m. the day I was leaving the hospital!

The Story of your... | Our essential oil collection | One of the nurses. She would come and beg to hold Onnika because it OB was really quiet and I didn't really need much. She was a really nice nurse!

Savannah got to come with Kambria to pick us up being Dad was in WI working. She was THRILLED to meet you - - it was so adorable!! She immediately wanted to hold you and take care of you. She's been a HUGE help at home with you!

 Time to go home...

A baby is cuddles and tickles on toes, The sweet scent of oils, a kiss on the nose. A baby is teddy bears, rattles, and pins, And lots of cooes, giggles and grins.

Home Sweet Home | I got home to a quiet house around 8pm. What a relief!! MaryAnn & Anna had taken George & Lily to Rogers. Grandma R. had taken Ina. Savannah ended up staying the night with me instead of going to Grandmas. She was LOTS of help! | Uncle Charlton came to see you for a little while, right when we got home.

Savannah was up bright and early taking pictures of us sleeping:) | She was excited to make me breakfast and deliver it to me in the living room. She refilled my ice water and made me peanut butter toast w/banana & cinnamon!! So cute!!!!

"What A Life. Eating Sleeping Playing... And Being Cute" | Savannah wanted to hold you, put you in the carseat, lay you down etc. all day! I had to inform her that you can't sleep w/pillows, stuffed animals and 5 blankets, quite yet:)

"Twinkle twinkle little star; do you know how loved you are?"

 baby of | mine

Peek | a | Boo | I got Onnika on a 3 hr. feeding schedule a few days after we got home from the Hospital. It did wonders for her sleeping at night. By a couple months old, she was sleeping 10-12 hrs. a night! She loved sleeping on our bed like all the other kids have also!

Cute as a Button! | Ron, MaryAnn & Anna stayed at Rogers for a week w/Lily & George. They came to meet Onnika when she was about 1 wk. old. When they were here, Anna asked if I would like them to take the kids to MI w/them for a couple weeks. What a HUGE help that was! They came back when Onnika was about 3 wks. old! | MaryAnn & Onnika MaryAnn! | Savannah was thrilled to put Onnika in the car seat and fill her up w/toys, blankets and etc! | George brought Onnika a ball, thinking it would be a great gift for her:)

Lily & George wanted to spend a little time holding Onnika before they left to MI w/Grandma & Grandpa. Kaleb was not thrilled w/the attention his mom was giving to the new baby. He didn't want to have anything to do with her. He said he will wave to the baby, but did not want to hold her:) | Sept. 22, 2010

And they're OFF... | We did some very quick packing for Lily and OFF they went for MI. I had mixed feelings about seeing them go, but I knew it would be better if I got more rest. Mark had school until late that night and I didn't want to be left alone with all of them!! | Sept. 22, 2010

 Quiet Time...

Ina came home from G & G Raisanen's when you were about 1 1/2 weeks old. She was instantly attached to you and did NOT want to let go of you. When you had to go for a nap, she cried and cried. When you woke up, she was ready and waiting to hold you on the couch, with her arms out! So darling!!

"Babies Are Life's Most Precious Gift" | Love at first sight

There is a love down in my soul. Where faith and trust I do hold. Love that will stand forever more. That's what sisters were made for. | Sept. 24, 2010

 Ina waiting to hold Onnika as soon as she woke up! | S I S T E R S

 My Little Sister

We went out to Grandma & Grandpa's one day to enjoy the nice outdoors and visit for a little while! | Dad went to Elbow Lake to meet Ron & MaryAnn with Lily & George when Onnika was about 3 wks. old. They seemed to have a fun time in MI, but it was also nice to have them back home. I was in my daily routine and ready for the rest of the troops. I don't know what I would have done without all of the help!! It made a world of difference with the adjustment of another child in the family!! | Lily & George wanted to see Onnika right when they got home, before they went to sleep!

Loving You To know her is to love her, She's the best thing in the world, She seems to just be heaven-sent For she's your baby girl! She's precious as a tot can be, All dressed in pink and white, She's so alert all through the day And sweetly sleeps at night. Yes, knowing her is loving her, That's absolutely true. And when this baby laughs and smiles, You know she's loving you!

 Baptism | May 22, 2011

We had picked out many different days to get you baptized over several months, but they never ended up working. So, once we realized Greg & Courtney were going to be having their baby soon, we decided to wait a little longer and have you baptized at the same time as your cousin Hudson. It worked great, we just had it right after church, at church.

A baby is God's opinion that the world should go on. Carl Sandburg

 Hudson Paul | Onnika MaryAnn

 Kummi's: Bryce & Brittany

Grandma & Grandpa Meredith were able to make it for your baptism. We had been waiting to try coordinate a time when it would work for both sets of Grandparents. However, it didn't work out for Grandma & Grandpa R. to be there because of Grandpa's health condition so that was kind of a bummer.

Family | It gets more and more interesting to try get family photos as the family grows larger. It seems each time we have at least one that is NOT going to cooperate... as you can see, this time Ina is at that age that it's her turn. It's actually kind of funny to see that each child has gone through that at the same age, so it happens every year, just passes down the line to the next sibling. Such is life, welcome to the family!! | It gets more and more interesting to try get family photos as the family grows larger. 55: Our Family You'll find there's a family of friends living here, a small group of minds, and hearts; With some of us clever and some of us not, At times you can't tell us apart. There's one who is cranky, and one who is shy, And one who is really uncouth; And just when you think you have discovered who's who, You'll really uncover the truth. The truth that we're all just a little of each, A group of imperfects are we And sometimes I might criticize the other ones, But strongly love & cherish the whole family. 'Cause the one thing that ties us together for life- no matter how far we're apart, Is love for each other, a family of friends A small group of minds, and of hearts.
