FC: Pima Tribe By: Kai, Katie, and Noah

An important tribe of Arizona is the Pima Tribe. They were known as the Pima Indians. They were around in 1694.Their clothing was made out of native cotton!

Pima Indians made simple clothing out of native cotton. They made breech cloths, headbands for men, short skirts, sandals, moccasins, and buskin shirts for everyone. They also made baskets.

Pimas created a Pimen Branch also known as Shoshonean. They spoke the language of Papago. The tribal name is Aatum, the people. Pima people painted on their faces. They also kept their hair at full length.

The Pima tribe were christians. With the help of Spanish missionaries, they sought God, built churches, and formed mission communities.

They had to tend herds and plant fields in both, Arizona and Mexico.

Noah, Katie, and I would be friends with them because they are generous and would most likely be nice to anyone they meet.

If the Pima Tribe were not here, we would not have clothing, wouldn't know the language of Papago, wouldn't know god, and we would not know how to be a farmer.

The resources that we used were http://www.srpmic nsn.gov/history_culture/.com and http://www.ccel.org/ccel/hebermann/cathen12.html?tcm=Pima+Indians .com
