BC: By: Chelsea Stone

1: Seasons | Poetry

2: fling | Spring is like a perhaps hand (which comes carefully out of Nowhere)arranging a window, into which people look(while people stare arranging and changing placing carefully there a strange thing and a known thing here)and changing everything carefully spring is like a perhaps Hand in a window (carefully to and fro moving New and Old things, while people stare carefully moving a perhaps fraction of flower here placing an inch of air there)and without breaking anything. | Spring is like a Perhaps Hand | Paraphrase: Spring can be quite like a hand fixing a window into people look at and change everything so carefully . Spring can quite be like a hand in a window moving new and old things while people carefully watch, moving a flower here and placing some air there without messing anything up. | Theme: Spring can change the surroundings without you noticing. | ~E. E. Cummings

3: If ever there were a spring day so perfect, so uplifted by a warm intermittent breeze that it made you want to throw open all the windows in the house and unlatch the door to the canary's cage, indeed, rip the little door from its jamb, a day when the cool brick paths and the garden bursting with peonies seemed so etched in sunlight that you felt like taking a hammer to the glass paperweight on the living room end table, releasing the inhabitants from their snow-covered cottage so they could walk out, holding hands and squinting into this larger dome of blue and white, well, today is just that kind of day. | Today | Paraphrase: If there was ever a spring day so perfect, so uplifted by a warm, gentle breeze, that it made you want to open all the windows in the house and let the canary out of its catch, let the little guy out! A day where the cool paths of bricks and the gardens blooming with beautiful flowers seemed so perfect in the sunlight that you felt like breaking open a snow globe with a hammer to release the ones inside, so they could walk out squinting in the sunlight and holding hands into this large dome full of colors. Well, today is that kind of day. | Theme: Spring brings beautiful days. | ~Billy Collins | ~E. E. Cummings
