1: this scrapbook will over look the author study and what a ode is what a English sonnet and what a Tanka is and my poem

2: A ode is a long lyric poem that expresses the author deep feeling about a object | Pablo Neruda, the most important Latin American poet of the twentieth century, was born in Chile and baptized Neftalí Ricardo Reyes Basoalto. When he was a teenager, he changed his name to avoid embarrassing his father, who frowned on his literary ambitions. Neruda wrote his first poems when he was very young, and by the time he was fifteen, several of his poems had been published.

4: a English sonnet (also called the Shakespearean sonnet fourteen lines lyric poem with a very specific structure fourteen lines are divided into three quatrains (rhyming four-line stanzas) and a concluding couplet (a pair of rhyming lines a quatrain makes a point or gives an example, and the couplet sums up the whole poem also the rhyme scheme is ABABCDCDEFEFGG | he was baptized on April 26, 1564, in Stratford-on-Avon, a town about one hundred miles northwest of London. William was one of eight children.he want to local grammar school. | Most scholars believe that Shakespeare went to London to seek his fortune the year after the twins were born. We know that by 1592 he had become an actor and a playwright, because in that year a rival playwright, Robert Green, scathingly warned other playwrights about the actor who had become a writer, calling Shakespeare “an upstart crow.”

6: Tanka is a Japanese poetic form with five unrhymed lines and exactly thirty-one syllables: five in lines 1 and 3 and seven in lines 2, 4, and 5. Tanka usually evoke a strong feeling with a single image. | Born in New Mexico of Mexican American and Apache ancestry, Jimmy Baca was abandoned by his parents when he was two years old. Baca’s grandmother took care of him until, at the age of five, he was sent to an orphanage. When he was eleven, he ran away, living on the streets until, at the age of eighteen, he landed in prison for possessing drugs. | In prison, feeling sure he was going to die, Baca notes, “I had to tell somebody that I was here.” He taught himself to read and write and began writing poetry. Then, taking “a wild chance,” he sent some poems to a magazine, which published them. Baca went on to become a highly acclaimed, award-winning
