FC: Quartering of Troops

 Quartering of Troops By:Shelby Chastain

Once upon a time, there was a young woman maned Eliza who took care of her children and her house during the Revolutionary War. During this time, Quartering of Troops was going on.

One day, a soldier came into her house and said, "What are we having for dinner?" "Chicken, corn, and green beans," she replied, handing him a plate of food, kinda confused.

Eliza's children hated the soldier and wished he would leave. They always complained that he was mean and didn't play with them.

Eliza kept telling her kids that he would leave soon, but they wanted him gone right then.

When the colonist won the Saratoga battle, there was a parade on the street of America and Eliza's children were apart of it. The British soldiers weren't happy with it. They became even meaner than before.

The soldiers started beating the mothers and children. They had bruises and cuts on them.

The soldier came into Eliza's house while she was cooking dinner. He slammed his stuff on the table and angrily said, "Where's my food?" Eliza was terrified and couldn't say anything. He slapped her in the face and as a reflex, she started hitting him.

As the soldier laid on the ground, lifeless, she realized what she did was wrong and felt horrible. She thought she was setting a bad example for her children.

She was afraid that the king would find out that she killed a British soldier and kill her.

But when the king finally found out about the soldier the colonists already won the Revolutionary War and Liberty!

About a week later, the Declaration of Independence, that Thomas Jefferson wrote, was published. Thomas Jefferson based his ideas from the Natural Rights that John Locke wrote.

The government made a federal system and they lived happily ever after.
