1: How it Began. | The Hundred Years' War started with the English King. He ruled a large part of France, and in 1328, he died and had no children. English king, Edward III was able to inherit the French throne. His mother was the kings aunt. Unfortunately, he wasn't a very good king, and started a war with the French. This war led to the One Hundred Years' War, which lasted for about 116 years. | Elyse Bologna

2: Joan of Arc was a teenage peasant girl who, since the age of 13, heard voices and had visions which she believed were from the saints. These visions and voices convinced her that she needed to drive out the English from France and help give the French crown to Charles VII. Amazingly, she convinced the French allies to allow her to lead the French army into battle at fort city near New Orleans. They were victorious and Charles VII was crowned king. Unfortunately, Joan was captured and turned to the English where, with no effort from King Charles VII to save her, she was burned at stake as a witch and heretic for hearing voices. | Genesis Solis
