Ordinary Life Simba is a lion cub living in the Pride Lands, and the son of the king of all the animals, Mufasa. Simba's ordinary world is an easy life with only one rule to follow, to never go beyond the borders of the Pride Lands into the Shadow Lands. It shows how he lives before the Call to Adventure.
Call to Adventure Disobeying his father, Simba travels to the Shadow Lands, with his best friend Nala, after being told by his uncle, Scar, that it really was an elephant graveyard. When Simba and Nala reach the graveyard they are attacked by three hyenas, but are saved by Mufasa. The hyenas start a stampede of water buffalo that kills Mufasa and leaving Simba to be king. And Scar blames the murder on Simba and tells hm to run away. It ties in with Simba actually runing away from the Pride lands.
Refusal of the Call Simba refuses to return to the Pride Lands to be king, after feeling responsible for his father's death and can't bring himself to return. This is Simba refusing the call to be king and exiles himself from the Pride Lands even after Nala plea's for his return.
Meeting with the Mentor While in the jungle Simba, now grown up, meets Rafiki, who seeked out Simba to convince him to return to the Pride Lands. With the help of Rafiki as his mentor, Simba decides he must return to the Pride Lands and take the throne from his uncle( Scar).
Crossing the First Threshold When Rafiki is talking to Simba telling him its his legacy to be king. After he sees his father's essence in a cloud and is told he needs to go back to Pride Rock.it fits into how he is out of the ordinary world and into another.
Tests He goes through survival with tamon and pumba. Overcomes his fearof killing his father. HIs fear of consequences. | Allies Nala, Mufasa, Tamon, Pumba, Zazu, Rafiki | Enemies Scar, Hyenas(Ed, Shenzi, Banzai)
Approach to the Innermost Cave Scene where he is running back towards Pride Rock, to claim his place as leader. It is very slow motion and dramatic. Also when he gets back into the Pride lands Simba is shocked at the horrible condition that it is in. It ties into Simba going back to fight Scar.
Ordeal/ Death Experience When he is fighting his uncle and is hanging half over the ledge, then he must challenge him to regain his spot on the throne. Scar finally tells him that he was the one that killed his father not him. it fits in when Scar tells Simba that he killed Mufasa. Simba overcame that fear of kiling his father.
Reward This happens when Simba and Scar are fighting for Pride Rock. Also Simba id fighting for the revenge of his father's death. Which is revealed that Mufasa is killed by Scar. As a resolution Scar is defeated. It ties in with the fact that Simba has defeated Scar and overcome his fear of killing his father.
The Road Back Once Scar is defeated it starts to rain. The fire is put out and Simba takes his places as king of Pride Rock. | Once Simba takes his place as king the land starts to turn from ash to green again. When the rain is done things are back to the way they were when Mufasa was king. it ties into the fact that Simba took rightful place as king.
Resurrection When the rain is over in the clouds Simba sees his father. Simba knows then he is doing the right thing by going back and becoming king. Simba shows the pride Hakuna Matata. He is more laied back and understanding. It ties in with how Simba has changed from living with tamon and Pumba and brought those teachings to the Pride Lands.
Return with Elixir When Simba becomes the king and everything is back to normal. With everything back to the way it should be Simba and Nala have a daughter. it was just as it was when Simba was born. it ties into the part when they show how the pride and everything is back to the way it was before Simba left the Prde and before his father dies.
