1: In this book, you will learn about the six elements of geography and why they are important.
2: the world in spatial terms one spatial term is absolute location. absolute location is the exact location somewhere is on the globe. You find absolute location by using latitude and longitude lines. another spatial term is relative location. when you use relative location, you describe where somewhere is in relation to something else. An example of using relative location is saying, "my house is next to the grocery store."

4: Places and regions A place is a certain space on earth with a physical and human meaning. A region is a group of places that are together because they share characteristics.

8: Human systems People affect the earth a lot. They settle, form societies, and migrate. Also, people move goods and ideas to different places.

10: The uses of Geography Geographers provide important information about the earths physical features and human systems.
12: Environment and Society People affect the environment a lot. We cut down forests, hunt animals, and build cities.
