S: The Stranger Themes
FC: THE STRANGER Themes by Courtney Frost
1: The Stranger had one main theme throughout the novel. The meaningless of Human Life. Monsieur Meursault had not given a care in the world. He never showed any emotion or remourse to whats going on around him. He did things because ha had no reason not too. He was an Honest Outsider to many around him. Life to him had no meaning but just time passing by. That we all die sooner or later in life.
2: In the Book you notice that everyone seems to have their own personality, there own INDIVIDUALITY. This is a theme noticed because no one seems to be the same and that happens to be a really good thing. Originality is the main key to life's happiness or unhappiness even
3: *Meursault is an honest outsider, signs of a sociopath. Very Peculiar. *Marie is like in her own little world especially because she loves Meursault more than anything. *Raymond is a trouble maker that likes to start things and get revenge. *Salamano was just old and loved his dog even though they had a love hate relationship. ***they all found a way to be happy in some way or another that fits there lives.
4: The last theme noticable is The Physical World surroundings. Meursault happens to be a good listener for when someone needs advice, even when he doesnt care.
5: [Contiuned] But in the novel, he often pays more attention to other things than where his emotions should be. For example; he is always mentioning something about the weather. How its always to hot or anything. Like in the court room, he cares more about how its getting hotter than it is what his punishment is or what everyone is saying.
6: So in the end, the overall theme of this novel is that life has no true meaning, but death at the end of our paths.
