2: Abraham Lincoln was born in Kentucky in 1809. Growing up, his family was very poor. As a little kid, he planted seeds for his family to have food. One time Lincoln planted so many seeds for the family's crops, but they were hit with such a big flood that it destroyed all of the crops. He had to start over with his planting. | He continued farming until he was elected President. He was the 16th of the United States of America. He was known for his speech, This speech was locked in the White House and protected by the Secret Service. Everyone loved President Lincoln because he was loyal and treated others nicely and respectfully.

5: President Lincoln was shot at Ford's Theater bin Washington D.C. John Wilkes Booth on April 14, 1865, during a performance by My American Cousins. Booth snuck in the President's box and shot him in the back of the head. He was hunted down twelve days later.
