I was born on December 22, 2003 at 1:10 p.m. at Burlington Memorial Hospital in Burlington, WI. I wasn't breathing very well when I was born, so about 3 hours later, I was transported by ambulance to Children's Hospital in Milwaukee, WI. Of course, Mommy and Daddy were very worried about me, but the Lord was taking care of me already. After spending a couple of days in the NICU, I was diagnosed with Pierre Robin Sequence -- my jaw and chin were too small and that caused a cleft palate in my soft palate. I had some wonderful doctors and nurses taking care of me at Children's.

I met my Grammy and Papa Hathcock, my Grandpa and Grandma Robbins, and my Uncle Mike and Aunt Ann Blodgett. They all loved me very much.
When I was 1-week old, I had tongue-lip adhesion surgery to help keep my tongue from falling back & blocking my airway. I had a little button on my chin for awhile! I was able to come home on Jan. 2, 2004! My big sisters loved me, too!
After being home for 11 days, Mommy took me to see Dr. Taylor for a checkup. While I was there, I had trouble breathing, so the transport team came and once again transported me back to Children's Hospital. After being there for a week, my ENT doctor, Dr. Kerschner, decided that I needed a trachaeotomy to help me breathe. So, on Jan. 23, 2004, I had trach surgery. I felt much better. Mommy and Daddy and Uncle Mike & Aunt Ann learned how to take care of me and finally, on Feb. 10 I was able to come home for good!
Lil' Bundle | All the doctors & nurses took good care of me! These are some pictures from the day I came home. Dr. Arvedson helped me learn to eat. Cindy Gore helped coordinate all my trach care. Jen & Judy are in the picture with Mom & Dad -- they were my 2 favorite nurses!
Cute as a Button! | Welcome Home!
Everyone took good care of me at home, too. Mommy & Daddy had to change my trach ties every night. Sometimes Uncle Mike & Aunt Ann would help, too. My sisters loved to help hold me and feed me -- I had to be tube fed & drink out of a special bottle called a Haberman feeder. | Below is a picture of all my trach supplies! I needed a lot of stuff!

I had a sleep study on September 15, 2006 to see if my trach was ready to come out. I wasn't quite ready! September 21, 2006 was my last night to sleep in my crib!

To Our Special Chadman, God has a special plan for your life! Although we were very scared when you were born and did not know what was happening with you, God did. We love you, little man! We pray that you will grow up to love and serve God with all your heart. Love, Mommy and Daddy God is good through every trial and test.
