FC: December | 2009
We decorated this weekend! The house was a wreck for a while, but it is coming together nicely. Madelyn's eyes still light up when she sees the lights...every time we walk in a new room ;) | New tree! | Madelyn supervised from her high chair while enjoying a few graham crackers. | Madelyn has outgrown her swing and exercauser, so we packed them up. She enjoyed playing with them one last time...in pieces.
December 1 | Dec 2, I picked her up a little early yesterday afternoon. I have a lot of time off to use or lose, so I will be taking her to school late and picking her up early a lot for the next few weeks :) | Thursday, December 3, 2009 Carseat..I mean carSTAND! When we got to school this morning (at 9ish) we played in the backseat a few minutes before we went in. If carseats weren't necessary, she would LOVE sitting in the middle between the front seats like WE used to do when we were little!
SEC Championship Eve Friday morning we took a few pics of her cute little outfit. | Friday Evening Opening her mail. | Pre-game grilled cheese and oatmeal pie | Michael took Pres out and took a few pics looking in... | SQUEAL!!! We were excited for the game! | Poor Florida :( hehehe | What's under here? An SEC Championship? WOO HOO!!! | High Five! | Jack, Kristen and Connor "Ingram" came to visit and cheered on the Tide with us.
Dear Santa, I want one of everything | Sunday, December 6, 2009 First Christmas Present! Gigi and Papaw came to visit today. They brought Madelyn's first Christmas present! She didn't really know what do to at first. But she figured it out with a little help. Gigi made her this shirt! Aunt Amanda gave her the pants! Goodness, this baby is loved! It was a baby's first Christmas ornament! Thank you!
Madelyn had a follow-up visit this morning with the doctor to check her iron levels. They pricked her finger and she watched VERY intently and never made a sound. She watched as the nurse pricked and squeezed her finger. She was PERFECT! The nurse said she would put most 4 year olds to shame! HA! She got two stickers for being such a good girl! But she didn't know what to do with them, so she ate them. | She weighs 17 lbs and 14 oz. And her iron level is great. They will check her again on her 1 year visit and now that she is eating more meat, she should be able to stop taking the iron supplement. | Madelyn also got her second regular flu shot and her first H1N1 flu shot today. We waited and waited...and waited...and bounced...We spun around on the stool. And WAITED! | Tuesday, December 8, 2009 Doctor Photoshoot We didn't expect to have flu shots today, so I guess the nurses didn't either. We waited a while (as you could tell from the last post) so since the wall was green, we had a photoshoot! Pretty little shirt! Gigi made it! I wish you could see her new teeth!
Dec 8th Lolly Visit | Friday, December 11, 2009 IT IS FRIDAY!!!! New hair bow! (Thank you, April) | Wild Saturday Night! The weather was so cold and rainy on Saturday, we stayed in most of the day. Madelyn played a while before bed time. (ROLL TIDE! Congratulations, Mark "Connor" Ingram #22, for winning the Heisman!) | Christmas Shopping! Sunday Gigi and Papaw came to visit and we went shopping ALL day! Between the five of us (Gigi, Papaw, Amanda, MJ and me) we kept Madelyn pretty occupied.
Tuesday, December 15, 2009 Christmas Pictures! Well, at the last minute we decided to have Christmas pictures taken. I thought it was too late to arrange something with Elana (the photographer who took the wonderful pics last time) so we went the quick route and went to a studio here in Birmingham this morning.
December 18, 2009 Friday afternoon was Madelyn's first school Christmas Party! She was READY, bib and all! | Here's the party food! Cheese puffs, cookies, cupcakes and peaches. | Ms. Becky and Ms. Ashley
Holiday Memories Warm Even The Coldest Of Days | We saw Santa on the firetruck driving through our neighborhood Saturday afternoon. When we got home, he drove by and threw candy to us! | Quick Trip to Dega! | Sunday December 20, 2009 Church Cantata Ready for a nap, but going to church anyway. | On Dec 20th, I went to visit Bevin and Mike, AND the newest addition to the family, John Kirkham, who was born Dec 9! He slept the majority of the time, after all he was 11 days old! Adorable! | Dec 22 (Tuesday morning) before school.
All I want for Christmas is ... | Santa came to visit me a few days early! I got a new camera, so I was practicing on Wednesday. Madelyn wasn't feeling well. She has a double ear infection which is causing other symptoms, but she is on antibiotics and is feeling SO much better! | Believe it or not the background is the dishwasher! HA! | Wednesday night we went to Talladega for a Christmas party with all my Dega girls. Madelyn stayed at Gigi and Papaws. | Baby's First Christmas pajamas!
Christmas Eve 2009 | Today we had a house full for Christmas with Lolly, Bob, Jack, Kristen, Connor, Emily, Ronnie, Ethan and Chloe. We had a wonderful time!
Christmas Morning! Madelyn was sick Christmas Eve night, so she had different Christmas pajamas for Christmas morning. I went to check on her at 6:20am and this is the sweet, happy, sleepy face I saw :)
We went to Talladega to have Christmas with Gigi, Papaw, Amanda, Karmen, Janet, Carri, Emily and Wanda.
Saturday December 26, 2009 11 Months Old Today! Today is Madelyn's 11 month birthday! I can't believe it. She loves her chair. Actually she loves EVERY thing she received. Thank you to everyone! | Monday December 28, 2009 Grandpa Johnny and Mimi's Christmas
"And the Grinch, with his Grinch-feet ice cold in the snow, stood puzzling and puzzling, How could it be so? It came without ribbons. It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes or bags. And he puzzled and puzzled 'till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before. What if Christmas, he thought, doesn't come from a store. What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more." ~ Dr. Seuss
"Although it's been said, many times, many ways, Merry Christmas to you!" | Robyn and Chanse spent the night with us last night on their way from Atlanta to Texas. We had a wonderful, but short visit. Who better to teach Madelyn about music? Robyn picked out the loudest toy she could find :) | Monday, December 28, 2009 Monday at Home We were all off today, which was a good thing since MJ watched Madelyn this morning while I went to the doctor. After two hours at the doc, two shots and two prescriptions, I am already feeling a little better! Madelyn had a wonderful day playing with ALL her Christmas toys! | Today was the first day I saw her stand up with nothing to pull up on! She did it over and over and would stand up and clap! Smart girl! And she has started taking steps from the table to the couch and back! She still uses both her left and right hand. Maybe she will be an 'ambi' like her mommy!
Tuesday, December 29, 2009 Driver's Permit Already? Teaching her to keep her hands at 10 and 2. She's learning to push the button herself! Steering hasn't quite caught on yet. And sitting down is optional. | NEW CAR! Wednesday MJ and I spent the day cleaning out the basement. Madelyn went to school and played with her friends! That afternoon, we stopped by to pick her up and went to buy a new car! These are pics of her waiting with us to fill out paperwork. She was a perfect angel, even though it was past supper time and we were all starving and tired!
Have a Holly Jolly Christmas | December 31, 2009 Connor's birthday was yesterday! He was the big 4 years old! We went to McWane Center to celebrate. Then we had a wonderful dinner at The Fish Market. Happy Birthday, Connor!!!
Kristen's brother, wife and nephew joined as well (Patrick, Lesley and Cade). Cade is a mover and a shaker! ADORABLE!!! He turned 1 in August. Gave us a little glimpse into how Madelyn will be in a few months!
New Year's Eve We didn't have a babysitter for NYE, so we had a few people over to our house after Madelyn went to sleep. Carrie, Haley, Wes and Allie came to visit! Allie had a wonderful time playing with baby Madelyn's toys and she was an ANGEL even though they stayed until after 10pm! | Allie put her pink silk pajamas on and DANCED!!! We aren't sure where she got her moves, but we certainly learned a few new ones last night ;) She danced FOREVER! And wasn't shy about it at all! She took a break to make a few calls, and then they had to leave :( We had a wonderful time, I am so glad everyone came over!
