Uniforms are a must! | Pine Rivers State High School starts the day at 8:40, but ends at 2:50. Australia has state sponsored high schools, which are required to wear uniforms | Pine Rivers High School

Extra Curricular Activities | Extra curricular activities are a major part of the culture at Freeman High School. Nearly everyone is involved in at least one sort of extra curricular sport or club. Two of the bigger ones at Freeman are theatre and track team.

Extracurricular activities are mainly dominated by sports for Australian teens. Pine Rivers High School boasts its own indoor swimming pool, so for our teen swimming is a major activity. Many Australian teens also play a modified version of basketball, known as netball.

American teens, after a long day of school, are more likely to engage in activities that are relaxing physically and mentally, such as watching TV or listening to music.

After School Activities | 80% of Australians live within 62 miles of the beach, so a trip to the ocean is always a great way to kick back after long week. Australians, being more physical and sporty than Americans, tend to see the beach not only as a place to soak up some sun, but to play some sports!

spring: a. The season of the year, occurring between winter and summer, during which the weather becomes warmer and plants revive, extending in the Northern Hemisphere from the vernal equinox to the summer solstice and popularly considered to comprise March, April, and May. b. A time of growth and renewal. | Night Time Activities | Americans are people who enjoy their leisure time. When it comes down to it, an American teen is much more likely to spend time for fun doing something mindless and but entertaining. A typical American teen may spend a relaxing evening seeing a movie or going out to dinner with friends.

A typical leisure night for Australians is a tad bit different than Americans. Australians like to spice it up, keep it fun and fresh. This is why many Australian teens can be found at night playing laser tag or even paint ball.

Perhaps the best similarity between America and Australia, boys and girls have the same opportunities.

Whether it be through education, employment, or just for a better future, boys and girls have an equal shot in both countries.
