4: A BASKETBALL TEAM | Aggies Womens Basketball Team The Texas A&M University Women's basketball team is located in College Station, Texas. They are coached by Gary Blair. They won the 2011 Final Four tournament. This helped them reach a new level and ranking number 1 on the final ESPN/USA Today Coaches Top 25 Poll. 5: B BASEBALL HISTORY | The History of Baseball Historians are unsure of where the game of baseball originated from, but they believe it was based on the English game called "rounders." Baseball became very popular in the United States around the 19th century. In 1845, Alexander Cartwright wanted to create a list of rules which stated that all teams could play. 6: C BASKETBALL INDIVIDUAL | Lexi Cunningham Lexi Cunningham lives in Austin, Texas. She has been playing basketball since she was only 4 years old. She plays basketball everyday of the week whether it's a private lesson, team practice, or just practicing outside. 7: D BASEBALL TEAM | The Round Rock Dragons Baseball team The Round Rock Dragons are from Round Rock, Texas. They are coached by John Carter, Jeff Kocurek, Rey Rodriguez, and Jared Sealy. 8: E BASKETBALL VENUE | Frank Erwin Center The Frank Erwin Center is located in Austin, Texas. It has been running since 1977. It is used as a venue for many things such as basketball games and many concerts! The UT men's and women's basketball teams all play there. 9: F ULTIMATE FRISBEE HISTORY | The History of Ultimate Frisbee In the fall of 1968, Joel Silver, a student at Columbia High School proposed a school Frisbee team to the student council as a joke. The object of the game is to score points by passing the disc to a player in the opposing end zone. Players may not run with the disc, and may only move one foot while holding the disc (pivoting). Joel Silver and Jared Kass put their minds together and created the sport of Ultimate Frisbee. | Personal Knowledge

10: G VOLLEYBALL VENUE | Gregory Gymnasium Gregory Gym is located in Austin, Texas on the campus of the University of Texas. It was founded by Thomas Watt Gregory. It was built in 1930 at a cost of $500,000. The idea was appointed by him in 1907, but took about 23 years to build. 11: H TRACK COMPETITION | Hill Country District Track Meet The girls' track teams did an amazing job at district! The 7th graders finished third and the 8th graders finished second in the district. There were many district champions in the relays and individual events. And the eighth grade pole vaulter, Nicole Summersett, set a new national middle school record by clearing 10'10! | Personal Knowledge

12: I EXTREME VENUE | The Space City Ice Station The Space City Ice Stadium is located just south of Houston, Texas. It is a 49, 000 square foot ice skating rink. It hosts several adult hockey leagues, such as Novice and the Afterburners A/B hockey league, as well as the Bay Area Houston Hockey Association. 14: K VOLLEYBALL INDIVIDUAL | Kahle Elliott Kahle Elliott lives in Austin, Texas and attends Hill Country Middle School. She plays for the Austin Junior 13 Mizuno Volleyball team. She plays outside hitter! Her team just qualified for the Junior Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia. Her goal is to play for the Stanford Trees Volleyball team in college. | Personal Knowledge

15: L VOLLEYBALL TEAM | University of Texas Lady Longhorn Volleyball Team The UT Women's Volleyball team is coached by Jerritt Elliott and assistant coached by Eric Sullivan and Salima Rockwell. Two years ago, this team made it to the championship and lost a nail-biter to number one, Penn State! And this past season they lost in the semi-finals to Penn State. They have had 6 girls in the National Team in one year! Next year is a promising season for this young team! | Personal Knowldedge

16: M TRACK COMPETITION | The Tyler Rose Marathon Tyler, Texas is located 80 miles east of Dallas, Texas, which is where the Tyler Rose Marathon is held. The race starts at the Rose Garden Center. The course is open for 6 and a half hours. This allows walkers to compete at a 15 minute per mile pace, without long breaks. The last 11 miles of the race is in the Azalea Trail. 17: N SOCCER TEAM | North Texas University Soccer Team The Mean Green soccer team is coached by John Hedlund and assistant coached by Cassidy Acuff. The goalie is Hailey Newsom, a junior. 18: O GOLF TOURNAMENT | The Shell Houston Open The Houston Golf Association entered the Eighties as corporate America began to take notice of golf in a big way. Shell Houston Opens first sponsor was Anheuser Busch. The first ever winner of the Shell Houston Open was Curtis Strange. He posted a score of 18 under par. 19: P WATER POLO HISTORY | History of Water Polo Water Polo began in the late 19th century in England and Scotland. The first official rules were made by William Wilson. Men's water polo was among the first games entered into the Modern Olympic Games in 1990. A team consists of 6 field players and one goal keeper. 22: S SWIMMING HISTORY | History of Swimming Swimming has been known since the Prehistoric Times. Drawing from the Stone Age were found in the "Cave of Swimmers". They showed drawing of dog paddle and breath stroke. But the first variant stroke was butterfly. Swimming was entered in the first Olympic Games in Athens, Greece. 23: T GOLF VENUE | University of Texas Golf Course The University of Texas Golf Club in located in Austin, Texas. All the famous UT coaches play golf there. It first opened in November 2003 and has been running ever since. The course is built in the Texas Hill Country and over looks Lake Austin. 24: U VENUE BOWLING | University of Texas Underground Bowling Alley The UT Underground is located in the heart of the UT College Campus. It's in the Texas Unions Building on Guadalupe Street. This is the perfect place for college students to hang out on the weekends. It's low key and perfect for parties. There are 25 separate lanes in this alley. 25: V FOOTBALL INDIVIDUAL | Vince Young Vincent Paul Young Jr. was born on May 18, 1983 in Houston Texas. He is 6"5 feet and weighs 233 pounds. He attended the University of Texas in Austin and won the Rose Bowl MVP Award in 2006. 26: W GYMNASTICS VENUE | Westlake Champions Westlake Champions is located in Austin, Texas. It is owned by Gretchen Huddleston. Westlake Champions has been running since 1996 in a small gym, which the Shepard Hill Lutheran Church kindly shared with them. 27: X BMX HISTORY | History of BMX BMX stands for Bicycle motocross. BMX racing began in the early 1970s when kids were just playing on a dirt road in southern California. It became really big in the mid- 1970s. George E. Esser founded the National Bicycle League as a non-profit bicycle motocross organization in 1974. In April 1981, the International BMX Federation was founded, and the first world championships were held in 1982. 29: Z GYMNASTICS INDIVIDUAL | Kim Zmeskal Kim Zmeskal was born in Houston, Texas. From her early years she has been trained by Béla Károlyi. She was the first American women to become a World All-Around Champion gymnast in 1991. In 2000, she married her coach Chris Burdette, and now the two coach the Texas Dreams Gymnastics team.
