7: The cotton gin was invented by Eli Whitney in March 14, 1794 one of the many inventions that occurred during the American Industrial Revolution. The cotton gin made the cotton industry of the south explode. Making cotton became much easier resulting in greater availability and cheaper cloth. | The Cotton Gin

8: Samuel F.B. Morse

9: In 1835, Samuel F. B. Morse proved that signals could be transmitted by wire. This became known as the Morse Code, named after Samuel. In 1836, he changed the written codes to dots and dashes. A few years later, it started to be used for trains on railroads so that two trains would not be sent out at the same time heading towards each other. The telegraph changed the world because it was the first way to send messages without having to be directly in front of the receiver. | Telegraph

10: John Deere

11: Steel PlowAT | John Deere developed the first American cast steel plow in 1837. The steel surface made farming easier on rich prairies. The plow was so successful that by 1846 Deere and his partner were selling a thousand a year.

12: Alexander Graham Bell

13: Telephone | In 1876, at the age of 29, Alexander Graham Bell invented his telephone. In 1877, he formed the Bell Telephone Company. He is most known for being the inventor of the telephone but he was also the inventor of the photophone that transmits sounds through light.

14: Thomas Edison

15: Thomas Edison invented the light bulb in 1877. His creation of the light bulb is used everyday around the world. Thanks to his invention we have light in the darkness. Thomas Edison formed the Edison Electric Light Company in 1878 in New York City. He set up the worlds first electric light power station in Lower Manhattan. | The Light Bulb

16: Henry Ford

17: In 1890 he invented the "Quadricycle." He wanted to invent affordable cars so that not only rich people could buy them, but also average people could. He tried to build cars so they would not cost too much. He was able to do it by inventing the assembly line. The assembly line helped Henry produce more cars faster which made them cheaper. In 1903 Ford helped establish the Ford Motor Company. The Model T was developed in 1908. | Cars
