Animals: Wild and Domestic - Page Text Content

BC: Many animals can be both wild and domestic? Turtles are one example. You can find them near water in nature or you can find them as pets in many homes. Can you think of other animals that have been domesticated for humans? What are some other reasons that humans care for wild animals? Make your own Mixbook to share with the class.

FC: Animals Wild Domestic

1: Wild animals live independently without help from humans. They are able to find shelter, feed themselves, and produce offspring. Domestic animals live with humans and require people to provide shelter, food, and care for their young.

2: Farm animals are domestic animals. Can you think of more farm animals? Talk with your partner and make a list of farm animals.

3: Wild animals live in many environments around the world such as jungles and savannas. Can you name other environments to find wild animals? Talk with your partner and make a list.

4: Pets are domestic animals. Can you name more pets? Talk with your partner and make a list.

5: Wild animals also live in our neighborhoods. Talk with your partner and make a list of wild animals you might see in our community.
