FC: Reading Legacy | Saman is a 14 year old girl in 8th grade. She loves to talk and joke around with her friends. Her favorite subject is science. Saman likes food and listening to music. She is really energetic and crazy! | HEMANI | Saman
YOUNGER DAYS | Saman was an avid reader as a little girl. She would read all of the Dr. Seuss books and any other books that had pictures. Some of her favorite books were Green Eggs and Ham and Corduroy.
But as she started to get older, Saman's interest in reading decreased. She no longer knew what types of books she liked, so she started reading all genres: chick flick books, scifi books, adventure books, and more. Until the 8th grade, when she found her favorite genre! | Elementary and middle school
FAVORITE GENRE | Saman's favorite genre is dystopian books. Dystopian books are books that are based off of corrupt and unpleasant societies. She finds it really interesting to read about books that are different from her society. It makes her think about how things would be if society today was like the books, and she really likes it. Some of her favorite dystopian books are The Giver, Uglies, and Unwind.
Saman's favorite book is Delirium by Lauren Oliver. Delirium is a about a 17 year old Lena that lives in a society where love is forbidden. Infact, love is known as a disease, and at the age of 18, each person in the community goes through a surgery that gets rid of their feelings. But Lena meets this one guy that hasn't gone through the surgery and they fall in love. This story is about them trying to hide their feelings in front of the society and about a place with no love. Saman enjoyed reading this book a lot and recommends it to any teenage girl. | FAVORITE BOOK
Reading was never something I enjoyed, especially as i started growing up. There were so many words, and none of them were interesting! But in seventh and eighth grade, Mrs. Ringman spent a lot of time trying to figure out what I would like and once she got to know me, she knew that I would love dystopian books! I learned that you're going to have to try a bunch of books before you find one that you like, and that everyone can find their "perfect match". Good luck future readers! | REFLECTION
