FC: The Dwarf Planets

"wow, what planets are those"said billy."those are dwarf planets"said kelley."what are dwarf planets"said billy."they are very small planets that are very far away from the sun"said kelley."oh, you mean like pluto, eris, and ceres"said billy."yeah your right they also are ....................

A dwarf planet is a object that is an orbit around the sun.It has a sufficent mass for its self gravity to overcome a stiff body force so that it assumes a very round shape. It has not cleared the neighborhood around its orbit and is not a satellite. Pluto is a dwarf planet .It was discovered by clyde tombaugh and researched by percival lowell. It was named after the roman god of dead.Pluto's surface is 6,430,000 square miles itis mostly brown and its atmosphere is mostly nitrogen. It is -369f up in pluto and its gravatational pull is 2.7ft/s2.Pluto has many moons it has 3 charon, hydra and nix.Pluto is3,670,050,000 from the sun and 3,647,240,040 miles from earth.

Next is ceres ,ceres is rocky .Its surface is icy and rocky and gray.Ceres was discovered by Giuseppe Piazzi and it was named after a roman godness.Only 1 probe was sent to ceres and it was called dawn.Ceres is only 415Klm from the sun. Here comes eris, eriswas discovered by Mike Brown in 2003 and it was named after a greek goddess.Eris has only 2 moons trton and dysonomia.Eris's surface is frozen methane and is gray.Eris is 9,907,000,000 miles from earth and 10 billion miles from the sun.

As we both can see that dwarf planets are objects that orbit around the sun so that they can overcome a round shape and is not a sattellite. You never know when a knew dwarf planet may be found. Some scientists say there are at least 200 dwarf planets. Will there be more dwarf planets in the future or not?
