FC: Atticus By: Lindsey Schifferdecker and Mackenzie Howard
Hi, I'm Atticus Finch! My occupation is a lawyer and in my free time I enjoy reading.
I have two children; Scout and Jem. My wife died several years ago due to a sudden heart attack. Calpurnia, my maid, is a great help around the house. I don't know where I would be without her.
A very important person to me is my son; Jeremy Atticus Finch. He is a good kid with good values. He is always open to learning new things everyday.
My daughter Jean Louise Finch is also a very important person to me. She likes to hang out with the boys usually. She's a tom boy! Everyday she learns something new.
Recently, I was assigned to be Tom Robinson's attorney when he was accused of raping Mayella Ewell. At the end of the trial, he was accused even though he didn't do it. When he tried to escape prison, he was shot seventeen times and died. It was horrible telling his wife about what had happened. Tom was a very brave man, and I am very proud to say that I was his attorney.
Bob Ewell, Mayella's father, was at the trial. Even though everyone knew he was the one who beat up Mayella, he wasn't accused. Later in town, he spit on my face saying I had ruined his reputation. One night, he tried to kill my children when they were coming home from a Halloween pageant. Boo Radley ending up killing Bob, saving my children.
These are my glasses. They help me see better whenever I read, which is something I like to do a lot.
This is my important suit. I always wear a suit to my job. I always liked to keep it tight but at the Robinson trial, I loosened it.
"I wanted you to see something about what real courage is, instead of getting the idea that courage is a man with a gun in his hand. It's when you know you're licked before you begin but you begin anyway and you see in through no matter what. You rarely win, but sometimes you do" (Lee112). When I said this I was telling Jem about real courage. I was also applying this to Tom Robinson. I knew we were going to loose this case, but we still tried anyway.
