FC: Auschwitz- Nazi: Uwe Konig by:Kellie Nalls

Fall 1941 Tears and prayers were being exchanged throughout the small farmhouse before the test begun. I instructed the untermenschen(subhuman) Soviet POW's to be quiet, before the test begun. There was three windows on the farmhouse, I told the prisoners "anyone who opens this window will be shot, so keep it closed as well as the door." Some other Nazi, whom I wasn't acquainted with decided that the test would begin. I moved a few meters from the farmhouse and he released the Zyklon-B gas. From what I heard, the prayers became soft chatters, and one by one the prisoners started to drop like flies. I then took a gander into the window, not a single person moved. My reflection showed a unexplainable grin.

this "farmhouse" is to represent where the first test of Zyklon-B was tested.

September 1941 It was mid-morning, when I heard the predicted news that Hitler finally ordered that the mass genocide of Jews. That was the moment I'd been waiting for. "I've been waiting for this "OK" since I became a guard," I thought. | 26 March 1941 I woke up with only one thought on my mind, to kill. I was informed the first mass genocide was today, Around 1000 Jewish, Slovakian women were imported. The male Nazi's thought I would be weak, because I am female and the first mass of Jews were

women as well. I taunted back,"we'll see who would sympathize with the prisoners!" Minutes later, I had to prove I wasn't weak. With my bare hands, I twisted a young, Slavic girls arm so brutally in broke into about three segments. The Nazi men, nodded their heads at me in the most respectable way. Mid-1942 Auschwitz had built gas chambers and crematoriums to have a specific place for the mass genocide. Auschwitz was the perfect area to have these because it was so isolated and it's reliable rail line, I believed.

29 January 1943 In Auschwitz II, approximately 23,000 gypsies were incarcerated, majority coming from Germany and Austria. 2 August 1944 "Arbeit Macht Frei," is what I yelled at the top of my lungs to the Gypsies. Today would become the largest group of people to be killed by gas today. I was excited because I was apart of rounding up some 3000 men, children, and women. This was during the liquidation of the Gypsy camp.

7 October 1944 Members of the Sonderkammando revolted today. Not in hopes to escape, because their is no escapees from any of the Auschwitz camps, but to try to destroy the crematoriums& gas chambers. Leading to, approximately 400 Sonderkammando killed as well as 15 SS guards.

 children of Auschwitz

6 January 1945 The last people killed in the Auschwitz camp were four women who smuggled gunpowder for the Sonderkammando. I remember this so vaguely, but there is one thing I remember vividly. .. evacuating the area in front of the Red army. However, the prisoners that marched back to Reich had perished, gladly. When the Red Army arrived, only a few hundred were found alive in the camps.

these are the identification badges each prisoner has to wear. | this political cartoon is mocking "the final solution"

 this was typical Nazi attire

Januaray 1945 As I heard, there was a funeral held at Auschwitz for inmates killed before liberation of camp.

 27 January Auschwitz is liberated!
