He gave all Americans some one to look at to get through the tough times that were going on.

He will always be remembered as one of the greatest hitters of all time, but he was an equally adept pitcher. 1918 the last season Babe played for the Red Sox was the only World Series win for 43 years. Babe was traded to the Yankees for $100,000. In 2004 the Curse was broken and the Red Sox have won two World Series in the past four years.
