1: Three Paragraph Essay | Bio tech Miguel Coyt Biotechnology is a great way of science; biotechnology is the study of using living organisms such as bacteria to create useful products. Biotechnology is and is not a new way of science, people have been using all through time without knowing it. Some things people do is breeding crops and domesticating animals. Another thing is making bread and cheese. Also they have made beverages and yogurts. No w biotechnology is in almost everything. It is part of our everyday life. One thing it is in is drugs. The small pox vaccine is a great example of that. Another great example is adult stem cell research. Biotechnology is also in our food and our beverages. It is used in making cheese. Also it is used with the tomato so it could stay longer and ripen. It has also been used to clone. They have successfully cloned a goat and they have also cloned a cat. Also it is important for alternative fuels. As I wrote before biotechnology is a great way of science. I believe it is necessary for humans to explore this science. We depend on this science for life and our necessities in life. Biotechnology is important for many reasons and I have explained why. Even though you might not know it, biotechnology is most like there. Biotechnology is simply pour new science and life.

25: Miguel Coyt Bio Tech 1)Please provide a detailed summary describing the artifact and its purpose. The artifact is many labs and analysis performed during the course of E.S.Y. these labs were to show us how biotechnology is used in the world and in our everyday lives. Some of these labs including pipetting were a challenge. Pipetting in regular biology is fairly easy for the most part, but bio technology is harder because it is a micro pipette. Micro pipettes are very easy to damage and the liquid it takes up can be changed but is still very small liquid. Some of the other labs were really easy, like urinalysis. Urinalysis is analyzing or testing someone or your own urine to see the ph. or the density or the cleanliness. This lab was easy because the instructions were simple and it is really quick to do. 2) Identify and list the GLPO(s) that were satisfied in completing this artifact. In addition, please explain how these GLPO(s) were met by specifically referring to the examples or evidence from the artifact. (Please specifically refer to the indicators within each domain, and do not simply state that you "Took Action" or "Communicated Ideas.") One glpo that was satisfied was, the student explains how differential access to knowledge, technology or resources affects people’s perspectives and their quality of life. This was met in one specific lab we did called close study on gmo’s. This was met because in this lab we read a story about a family driven in half when it came to genetically modified organisms. The issue is that the mother, her oldest daughter, and on occasions her son were against it, were the uncle, youngest daughter, and sometimes the son were for it. The uncle works with a company that works with gmo’s and tells his family about it but the mother also reads magazines that tell her that gmo’s are a bad thing. The youngest daughter is crazy about gmo’s she thinks they are ten times better than organic ones. Due to these new gmo’s they both have new views of the future of plants and animals. Another glpo met was, the student expresses his/her own perspective on situations, events, issues, or phenomena and identifies various influences on that perspective. This was met by, writing three paragraphs about how bio technology affects our food sources, health survival. Using the internet and documents that I read I wrote three paragraphs on how bio technology affects our survival and food. 3) What skills and concepts were learned in completing this artifact and how will they affect your future? Skills that I learned in completing this artifact are using micro pipettes, to isolate DNA. I also learned how to test your urine for ph, also its density. In completing the artifact I learned how to create green plastic. I also learned about gmo’s. Gmo’s are genetically modified organisms and can deal with plants or animals. In completing this artifact I learned the significance of bio technology. 4) What might you do differently if you were able to recreate or revise the final product? What I might do differently the next time around is be more active in labs. The reason I would be more active is so I can get a better feel of labs and activities. Another thing I would change is I would follow all safety rules. The reason I would follow these rules is so nothing bad happens to my body. The final thing I would change is the finish product which is a scrap book. The way I would change this is more checkup or due dates to make sure there on track.
