FC: Geography Around the World By: Amber Sparks

1: The World In Spatial Terms Spacial terms does not mean terms in space. It means how places, and features on Earth are connected because of their locations. Absolute and relative location both have a part in Spacial terms.

2: Absolute location is the exact latitude and longitude at which a place is found on a globe. If you use a map to get to a place you are using absolute location.

3: Relative location describes a place's location is relation to another place. Example: my house close to McDonalds.

4: Places and Regions There are many different things that have a part in this element of geography such as; place, region, formal region, functional region, and perceptional region.

5: A place is a particular space on Earth with a physical and human meaning. A region is bigger than a place, but also can be broken up into different types of regions.

6: Physical Systems Physical Systems are things that shape the earths surface. Some examples of some physical systems are volcanoes, floods, hurricanes. etc.

7: Human Systems The forth element of geography is human systems. Human systems means that humans did something to affect the earth. some things that humans have done are; migrating, forming societies, and moving goods and ideas to new places.

8: Environment and Society people affect environment and society by clearing or planting forests, building industries and cities, and hunting animals.

9: Features of the environment such as mountain ranges and deserts often pose barriers to human migration.

10: The Uses of Geography Geographers provide important information about the planets physical features and processes living things and human systems.

11: Such important information describes the plants and contributes to the planning for future needs.

12: You have just learned about all six of the elements of geography. There is more that u will need to know and learn further down in your school years.

13: Geography can be a tricky subject to learn, but i hope this book has helped you. Maybe now geography is easier for you.
