12: Braydon, I was asked by Kirby if I could write something to you in recognition of your graduation this year. I thought to myself, "Is the Pope Catholic?" Of course I'll write something. I take the opportunity as an honor. First off, congratulations on your graduation from high school! I will add my name to the many others who are proud of you for this accomplishment. This school is going to be less of a place without you, and the rest of the world is going to reap our loss. Every once in a while there are students who pass through school who have a way about them that makes me think, "I wish I were back in high school so that I could hang out more with that person." You are one of those guys to me. Watching you move through the grades, I saw someone who grew steadily in his faith, character, and discernment. There are a shortage of these kinds of young people, and so for me to know you is a privilege. We only get one shot at 1 Timothy 4:12, and I can vouch for you that you are not looked down upon because you have set a good example for other believers around you. I do have to apologize that you had me as your teacher when I was still green around the gills. Being an inexperienced teacher, I couldn't tell frog crap from pea soup. Sometime I wonder, What if I taught your class now? I think we'd have a pretty awesome time! I guess I just have to let that one go.... I did go back into my personal archives and found this plea from a boy who had only four other males in his class and who has two sisters, "Why are girls so weird? This is not funny. I'm serious." You may still be trying to answer your own question. Hey, remember, you just have to find one who isn't weird. Well, I do feel like I have to send you off with a piece of advice. The hard part is narrowing it down...and not sounding like your parents.... Well, how about this: Although girls were weird, they are not so weird anymore. For the relationship(s) you do get in to down the road, make a habit of praying together every time you see each other, even if it's briefly. This will put the focus on God and will be a blessing to others as you both think beyond yourselves. May God grant you wisdom to discern; may He protect you away from your family, and may the Lord use you to bless more adults than just your grade seven teacher. Joe

13: Braydon has a lot going for him with a helpful attitude and can do attitude to complete what he starts. The missions trip was a good trip and Braydon put some real force into rock pulling and had a good natured way of connecting with the kids there. I really have enjoyed the time with Braydon this year and learned a few “Machead” things from him along the way. Thanks for brightening up many a day for me Braydon may God bless your trek ahead.
